View Full Version : Price of fuel set to rocket
Great, time to get ripped off even more:
http://www.parkers.co.uk/News/News/Fuel-prices-to-rise/
Cant afford to run a car - Get the bus . Its only going to get worse
They do it because they can. Every government has resisted improving public transport to acceptable standards which forces more people to drive, just so they can do this.
What do we Brits do in response ? NOTHING !!
We take it up the tailpipe !
Who remembers the strikes a few years back when prices jumped from 85 to 90p ? That lasted, what, a week ?
Within 6 months it hit a quid and bar a price drop for a few months, has been rising ever since, with no corresponding oil barrel price rise.
We Brits are MUGS as a collective group.
my mountain bike fuel is getting more expensive as well - general food shop prices have slowly risen, and the supermarkets all point the finger at fuel costs.
DT.
I was a duty manager at a tesco petrol station when the fuel protests where happening and we where 1 of 2 stations to get fuel . It was manic but if we protest now its terrosisim
Currency movements, oil prices and VAT hike to blame
Erm no. The currency is settling down to near where it was before the recession.
Oil Prices have gone DOWN, And they have been low for a while.
VAT went DOWN to 15%. But did the fuel go down 2.5%?
NO!!!
this is why i sold my car and is currently biking it the 17miles to work, then buying a pizza and putting it back on again sigh..
Uh uh, not a good year to be making this then?
Can someone do me an LPG conversion?

No, but I'll take it off your hands for the cost of a pint (of fuel as it's expensive?). :p :D
Fuel costs don't phase me, it costs what it costs, if I don't want to pay it I'll buy something economical or drive less.
OPEC should be dealt with, they make more money than i know how to describe yet they put up the prices every few months.

You realise that most of the cost of our fuel is tax, right?

wtf!? is that a BMW V10?
Its not going to get any better fuel is used as a tax in this country and that adds to prices to everything else the roads carry food cloths etc etc
Expected? lol wtf is going on with the UK remember back in 2000 when farmers and lorry drivers blocked fuel depots then again they wanted to do it in 2005 but didn't, i think its time to make a real stand to show the government we wont take the vat/tax hikes.
The price of fuels now is completely ridiculous over the last year or so we have said nothing as it rockets up to over £1.20 a liter yet the fat cat companies still roll in profit every year.
This affect every one even you guys who don't have cars, the price of every thing that is transported from a to b will increase remember we have a VAT hike in January of 3% you think your employer is going to be able to afford a living cost pay increase for you this year or next?
What confuses me is where this money actually goes...? The road quality is absolute shite - I just spent 2 weeks in france on near perfect roads, smooth as a baby's bum, come back to the Uk and I was driving literally with my mouth open.
We are so much closer to a third world country that people realise - our roads are dangerous, and what do the gov do? set aside some money to put those rubbish little bits of tarmac in the holes, which come out at the first frost of the year.
This country is going to rat ****, end of
