Hi, could you tell me what graphics card you have?
personally i'd buy a decent quality psu like this:
http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/OCZ+StealthXStream+2+600W+Power+Supply?productId=4 0944
if your only using one card and won't be adding another later than the 500w one is fine, if you will be i'd get the 600w one
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Power+Supplies/650W+or+less/OCZ+StealthXStream+2+500W+Power+Supply?productId=4 0958
the gpu will be a hd4850 and i will only be using one card,
thanks for your info

Get a Better one, Say a 550w Corsair
Yeah didn't someone have an EZcool PSU blow up their PC?
are you having me on El Wayneo
I'm going to be selling my Corsair CX400 soon. It's running a more power-hungry system than what you're building too and can actually output 400W (your build won't get close to that though). If you're interested just reply here and I'll let you know when it's free and best price including delivery I could do it for.

Hes not. They are THAT bad.

that person would be me :(!
I have a different opinion when it comes to PSU's the Aria own brand ones are a fraction of the price of the branded ones and are the same products without fancy paint jobs and packaging.. ID say get a aria one http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Power+Supplies/650W+or+less/Arianet+Stealth+650W+%22Silent%22+ATX+Power+Supply +for+AMD+and+Intel+Motherboards+20Pin+%2B+4Pin+?pr oductId=39125 that one is £25 and can run a lot. although if your not putting a heavy graphics card in that machine the 500w 34a on 12v on the ezcool one would do the job

you would think the EzCool one would but i had a 650W EzCool psu with an amd phenom II x4 and my 5770 and that decided to commit suicide for no reason? honestly go for a good branded psu like corsair, antec, XFX, or OCZ dont get a cheap one.

We have had similar discussions about oem psu's before, aria dont actually make the psu's they're just oem parts witch aria sell, not all oem psu's are bad but unless you absolutley know who the manufacturer is i wouldn't even bother looking at anything below £50, the psu should be the most important part in your pc.
I've seen people on here argue that a £20 psu will last a couple of years and if it does die they will just buy another, but what people seem to forget is that the psu will more than likley take atleast the motherboard with it, well sorry but i cant afford to buy a £300 motherboard everytime the psu decides to have a breakdown.
Also what people seem to forget is that wattage that psu's are sold and marketed at is actually the peak power output not the constant output, many oem psu's cant even do anywhere near half of the marketed wattage without dying due to be unable to deal with the demands placed upon it.
Many unbranded psu's witch have a 80+ certification are actually illegal sold and marketed as such, as they aren't tested to qualification, or in some cases manufactures just stick the label on without doing any sort of testing.

Exactly as above. Well said.
Just one point... you wouldn't have to spend £300 on a new board, I'm sure you could win another!
thanks for all your comments,
on this pc build i will not be overclocking,
the graphics card will be a 1gb 4850 and will only use one card,
can i please ask any experts if they think the ezcool 500w will be ok for basic use,
or until i get another psu,
Thanks
Terry

Its only £29 with the free shipping.
great PSU as well.
Agree with El Wayneo, just not worth risking, when the OCZ can be had for such a bargain price.
I have a couple of the cheap EZCool PSUs & would only ever use them for testing; seen too many blow & take out the motherboard.

to be quite honest EzCool should be banned from making psu's

was you overclocking when your psu blew ??

TBH it doesn't really matter if a pc is overclocked or not. A PSU that blows up when running under its rated performance is just not to be trusted.
here is a video of what happened when corsair ran some tests on an un-named budget PSU brand:
Ezk9OA7aKOE
When this happens there is a high likelihood of a small surge that could easily be enough to kill some of your other components.
The risk is just not worth it.
Have a look at this thread for instance: http://forums.aria.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18883

nope nothing was overclocked at all mate. my computer just randomly froze up one day when i was doing some college work so i turned it off and when i tried to turn it back on again i would get a power on for a split second then it would turn off again. must have been some sort of spike i dont know? but it also took out my motherboard and cpu, so i wouldnt recommend this brand AT ALL :|!
