Server Outage

Please note that our datacentre suffered an outage earlier today (we think the power blew and took out the air conditioning which in turn took out a few of our servers).

Our main website databases were ok but the forum has been restored to last nights backup so any new posts on Saturday will have been lost.

The forum failed because the AirCon went down???

Is that some hot servers, or typical?

Went down to the datacenter for the first time this week - there's a lot of servers in there kicking out a lot of heat. Our IT boss went down last weekend when the servers died and says he almost passed out and came out soaked with sweat it was so hot.

We're not sure if it was heat which caused them to shut down as a precaution (one server was reporting \"Temperation Caution: 90oC\") or whether the power blowing took out the power that some of the servers are connected to.

The website was down for about 45mins, but from what I hear a certain \"micro\" competitor who have their servers in the same datacenter were down for much longer ;-)
