Would you buy is the question? :D
If it was under £50 and I was building an HTPC, ya I probably would :)
would be ideal for htpc builds, not one for me though.
DT.

Will be around £75 i think.
Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over priced.
I'd love one, but I'm guessing they are expensive, and I'm too cheap :P.
Absolutely perfect for HTPCs though, indeed.
Why does it seem they're only able to produce 400W fanless PSUs
People would pay money for a silent gaming PC

Yeah - if it is, it's a great shame.

Because they need massive heatsinks, the heat output from a 600/700w PSU would be too much to cool passively, within the dimensions of the ATX PSU.
There are a few 450w about too ;)
at the bottom of the review it says its priced at $124.99 which is £80.16
NOT A CHANCE AT THAT PRICE :)

Silverstone ones are dear so i imagine these would have even more of a premium.

guys! this will save you money, its an 80+ GOLD, well worth the £80 imo, bare in mind the money you would save from 80+ gold.

You wouldent save much money over a 80+ Bronze (or even a regular PSU). You can get PSU's much cheaper.

Very promising for a HTPC. The price is a tad over the top. I'd rather pay £50 for a Corsair which is near silent anyway!
seasonic are good but i dont think i would trust a fansless psu...

Haha I hear ya! I'd be constantly checking to make sure it isn't too hot. Plus the rest of the heat that it would pour into the case...

+1 that is true :thumb:

Truth be known most people with "gaming" pc's could probably get away with a decent 400w psu.
As for this one, over £80 for a 400w psu, even if it is truely silent and modular does seem somewhat expensive.
Still i know some people who are very particular about pc noise so it would appeal to them.

I read somewhere that most of the high quality psus can give out a lot more than their stated power output. So you might get say 450 or 500w from this. I would definately buy this becuase its seasonic and they are top quality brand.

Check this link out, the psu in this thread can handle 600w!

guys, theres a 460w version, that can chandle at least 600w and will save you tons on the bills :P would be nice if they made a 550w, 600w, etc, but these would be extremely expensive as they would have to make smaller and smaller components inside to generate less heat at high load.

I'll take one for £80.
80+ Gold & Completely silent!
Well I am one of the silent nuts :)

Agreed,
Low Power CPU and huge heatsink
a few fractal silent fans
passive graphics
SSD
Fanless PSU
= Win
silentpcreview specialise in ultra quiet and fanless setups and The Seasonic X-Series Fanless 400W is now their favourate powersupply as they ran it at 100% load for 15 hours without a problem and the supply is very clean and gives very little hum/buzz noise unlike alot of other fanless supplys.

.
it is literally the very best psu in terms of components and efficiency.
soon they are meant to be bringing out semi passive ones that have a fan but only spins when it needs to, and with the efficiency of these things that wont be often.
but to me id rather have a bit of fan noise then have it cut out.
They also have a 460W due out.

I would stock them but in small quantities like EVGA products. Great products but you have to either be very rich or very mad to own one, not that having one doesn't make others envious. XD
RawZ will Aria be getting the 400 and 460w version in ?

lol, you make me laugh my *** off :)
there already are semi-passive ones, the seasonic X-650w gold, 750w, etc, are all semi-fanless and the fan only spins when there past there avarage load, and if you have good case airflow it wont spin at all, im getting the X-650w soon.

Thanks Mr RawZ :thumb:
The 400w would cost you £95-100. Would this be something anyone wanted at this price.
What about the 460w version ?
If I were to buy one i'd definately pay the extra £15 for the 460W version.
Would not interest me. A good quality new PSU will be probably less than half the price and the fans are almost silent nowadays anyway. I recently got a Corsair 400W and can barely hear it. OEM on that is Seasonic too actually.
I'm sure there's a few people who would want this product, but I don't think it's enough for Aria to bother stocking it, but I'm not the products guy at Aria so what do I know!? You could have them shipped in to order, but I think if you get more than 10 they'll sit there for too long because of the price, not that it isn't a lovely unit.
I think the 460w version is a better option as most of the semi passive PSUs the fan starts to kick in at 400w constant load even with high airflow and low airflow systems like Media pcs the fan can kick in as low as 300w so the 460w would give you more fanless power for us silence freaks. :)

Like the idea, not the price...
Abit more than i expected as i thought the 400w would be about £80 odd and the 460w £90 odd but we do seem to pay a premium in this country on new products unlike the USA that seem to start new products on specials or with rebates.
But there is no other 400 / 460w plus fanless PSU on the market with such a high efficiency and the ability to run constantly at 100% load without any airflow so maybe i shouldn't be so surprised.
