Hi all,
I'm just doing a poster with my goals in life. On it at the moment are;
A trip to Gullivers World with my son (this is the missus' goal)
Aston Martin DBS (bit different I know)
To go to Vegas
A Hymer top of the range camper
Ocean going yacht
and a plane :)
So whats yours?
Goals:
get a Girl friend
get a job
get a social life(i have none)
have fun
Pretty much what Pear said, except I have a job. Maybe that I want a more relevant job to my interests :p
And what would that job allow you to do that you cant do now? :)
get a Girl friend
get a wife
own a house
have a well paying job
have a F*******ing awesome PC/media room.
Thats it, ill be happy.

1. Get well.
2. Start a small business fixing, upgrading and building PCs
3. Smoke, drink, eat and be happy
oh and
4. Stockpile weapons and food for the inevitable Zompocalypse.

This. I was going to say I've learnt to not have life goals and simply to try to be as happy as possible, because over the past year or so now nothing seems to be progressing. I'm leaving my mind wide open to anything that's thrown at me. I'm willing to take on anything, just to occupy my time and hopefully get some money out of it, because there are simply no jobs around here, and I can't start on anything else until I get a job.

Have more stuff that uses my skills I guess.
Got a secondment opportunity I am hoping will go through. It's simple database stuff, queries, reports etc. Step in the right direction and I will have some website duties too which is cool :cool:
Also a couple of pay grades up :D Fingers crossed.
My main goal at the moment is probably get some confidence.

ooh good one for my poster :) thats one thing I'd love to do, whether I'd go through with it would be another thing
Sorry to drag the whole saga up again, but I think emptying the shed should be pretty high on the list jon :p
lol, i can do that in an afternoon :)
-Get girlfriend - check.
-Keep girl friend.
-Get married some day.
- Have two kids, one adopted, one my own.
-Have a voice controlled computer run house.
-Work out whats going on in my head 90% of the time.
-Watch one after the other the following, all the star treks all the smallvilles all the scrubs all the friends firefly all the farscape all thew charmed all the andromeda all the doctor whos(modern) and any other awesome tv show ive seen over the years and hopefully survive.
-Own at least 5 cats.
-Keep said cats alive for as long as possible.
-Live forever or at the very least a large chunk of it.
-Find someone who does not require the joke in the previous point to be explained to them.

-Get boyfriend who isnt freaked out by my crazyness
-Back opertaion goes well and have no problems with it
-Go on holiday with boyfriend
-I dont have too many problems in the future involving hospitals and genes
-Figure out what i want to do as a career
-Go to Uni to study it
-Get married some day.
-Have couple of kids maybe adoption
-Have some cats
-Live a long life with the people i love.

Win the Euromillions, that would solve almost all of my goals.
Every 4/5 years or so i write a list of things id like to achieve by a certain birthday (25/30/35 etc) and i keep that list handy for reference every few months.
Doing this stopped me drinking, stopped my ridiculous gaming hours, got me a girlfriend, 3 kids(one inherited, one on the way) my own house, a rebuilt set of tools after i had a load nicked years ago, a motorbike licence, out of 20k of debt (drinking/partying/dope) and a rekindled love of reading.
The cost ? an active social life as mine revolved about drinking and mmorpg-ing but its a small price to pay in comparison.
Next up on the list are things like:
Get a job after girly is safely through complicated pregnancy and recovery
Save (x) thousand for Child trust funds
Complete tick list of home improvements ready to sell and upgrade (all DIY)
Buy another motorbike and travel Europe for 2/3 weeks
Write a book of short stories for kids
Discover an 8th day of the week all for myself as the other 7 are taken up by everyone else :D
if at first you dont suceed then skydiving is not for you :chuckle:
Goals in life? so few yet still so far away :thumbsdn: not really just try to enjoy it as much as you can.
1 goal to out live all the people i hate so i can have the last word
Why are we doing this? So you can look at a poster on your wall and get depressed because you have none of the above?:confused:
nope, because it gives me a reason to go out and make money :)

move out with other half
buy our own house

- get a better job.
- set-up a "proper" desk (the length of 4 desks) in my new room once its ready.
- build a shed to do pc/ laptops repairs in (start a small business to earn a little extra)
- Start my own business and have a house fully paid of by the time im 25 ;)

Sure are, move to the Welsh valleys and get a 3 bed house for 30k :D
Several years ago i went in for a 3 bed house in a small village just off the A470 (main non-motorway through wales to Cardiff) for 27k, fully fitted, everything new with Aga-fired heating. Pulled out at last minute 'cos of work commitments.
Five years later with market price rises, it sold for 72k. Gutted was an understatement lmao
