OK, almost finished setting up this laptop and I am having an issue...

There is no HDMI audio device to select in the audio devices.

I have updated to the latest graphics driver, and the driver for the Intel audio device is showing up in device manager.

Any ideas how I get it to show in sounds so that I can select it?

Ok the HDMI audio is linked to your video card im guessing intel? this can happen if you have been messing with the audio and graphics drivers updating them ect try this link and update every thing if its all up to data try installing and using the update again.

Is there an option in the BIOS to turn HDMI audio on ? I know my 785G has it as an option in the BIOS.

Does the chipset in question even support audio over HDMI ?

chipset is I3 330M and yes it is audio over hdmi.

May well be the TV i am testing on, as I said I will try another one later.

@jason, it's on the latest Intel driver already.

in device manager under audio you should see intel display audio ive searched my i5 laptop and this is the only thing i can find, there is an issue i was outlining to you with it turning on and removing and updating the driver with that auto updater is what microsoft and Intel recommend to fix the issue, if there is an issue.

ok, my infamous LG M227WDP and it's HDMI port were to blame :-
