im thinking about getting a better graphics card and selling the one i have right now to my brother :), although i could always crossfire two vapour-x 5770's? but then again how good would that compare to the other higher edition cards to two of these in crossfire, i understand that crossfire is still a bit of an issue with some games which is putting me off, plus the fact trying to sell two of these later on would be harder. the 5850 seems like a good card but then again the 5870 is probably the best single gpu card on the market too, but what is about the best brand of 5850 is best for overclocking? if i over clocked one of these would it be better or just as good as a 5870? although i could just go for a 5870 and overclock and tweek that but its all down to money and what card is about the best value for money wise :|, im really finding it difficult to decide what option to go with  so please give me your input and help me out :D thanks!

1 x 5850 and overclock it?
I would just get a reference HD5770 and see how you get on.

@KarlHungus - yeah i was thinking about that, and getting this card? http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/ATI+5800+Series/XFX+Radeon+HD+5850+1024MB+GDDR5+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+-+3+Free+Games!+?productId=40691
@ElWayneo - if i were to get another 5770 i would get another vapour-x so it would match :p

The xfx with its 3 game bundle is quite tempting m8 and a good choice.

yeah it is quite tempting, but i always want the best of everything because thats just my nature :p so i would also be tempted to get the 5870, but then again its all down the price i suppose. if i got that 5850 and overclocked it a bit i suppose it would be just as good as a 5870, and later on down the line i could also crossfire as well but with a antec CP850 psu, i dont think it would be able to handle two crossfired 5850's which have both been overclocked or whatever. such a hard decision to make imo :(
The CP850 will handle 2 x HD5870 at least, so 2 5850 will be fine.

2x GTX 460's ?
Edit: NVM, see your on a n00b motherboard :P
but your 2 x8 pcie sockets on your motherboard wouldnt do crosfire on anything above 2 5770.. id just get one 5850 .. simple is best

Oh, theres always one, assuming you mean me - the board supports both Sli/CFX
*don't mention the x8/x8 results being negligible*
no terb i mean the original poster he is now talking about Xfire on 5850 but he would need another mobo regardless of whether his PSU can handle them..

i wouldnt need a new mobo  it supports crossfire X plus my psu has 2x 6+2 pci-e connectors and 2x 6pin pci-e modular cables that can be plugged in if i do decide to crossfire two 5850's

dont know wither its the reference or not because someone else on the forum im sure got a 5850 which was the VTX version which came with a totally different cooler and shroud, so thats kinda put me off a bit incase i end up with something else
i was just thinking that it has 2 8x pcie sockets not 2 16x so there would be a bottleneck if you put in 2 high end cards.
I am in the same position as you i have one 5770 and im wanting to upgrade and pondering to crossfire or not, you already have a crossfire board where as i dont :)
just buy a 5770 and stick it in keep...

If you phone and order you can ask them which it is at the time of ordering.
again im int he same boat but im just thinking buy one 5850 and sell the 5770
the 5770 i have is a VTX and its great TBH not had a single issue with it.

hmm not sure m8, might be worth asking CS though. it says "Current batch is VTX/Powercolor"

see this is the problem that i have been having for a while now :( so many different people have different opinions on what i should do, which makes decision making that extra difficult , i dont know i will have a think about what to do, a second vapour-x would look smart though, and if it does perform better than a single 5870 then all be it thats encouraging even more. but its when coming to sell the cards is the problem, whos going to want 5770's when the new 6xxx series comes out :|?

lol true. but imo its better to get a faster single card (if u can afford it) than getting two lower end ones. and the one i posted looks good and is priced cheaper than any other one i've seen. you could always phone up and ask for the Powercolor one

i'll most likely just get a single 5870 but the VTX and PowerColour cards look crap and the red pcb wouldnt go with the rest of my pc :| i dont know i will have a long hard think about it, most likely get a 5850 or 5870 for definate, because as you said its best getting a faster single card :), thanks everyone for your advice anyway really helped me out :)
ill give you £50 for the 5770 :D

personally i would sell the 5770 and go for either a 460 or 2 x 460's they look like the bee's knees and i always prefurred Nvidia until ati starting p00ning all :)

if you plan on playing many DX11 games..
thisVV
Two 5770 MSI hawk's
2x 5770 perform nearly as well as a 5970 in tessellation.
if you just want pure speed all the time get a 5850 with the intention of getting another later..
Two MSI Hawk 5770's would for the most part beat out a 5870, and they're good for overclocking.
I'd love to have a 5770 hawk trifire lol.
