Max i want to spend is about £700, i already have a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB 19\" crt, which in no way im going to get rid of. Has good contrast and just overall quality build. Have Creative SPeakers which do the job. Thanks for replying, plan on buying very soon before google checkout offer dissepears. Thanks again :D

Thx but i prefer wired mouse since its not really a problem and its light-weight which i need since im so use to the mx500.
What about the keyboard, i have a choice between G11 and G15? think display is worth having its an extra £18, but if it can show me cpu, memory, net usage, song playing now any anything else then its probably worth it.

[quote:588010a583=\"PrivatePyle@Work\"]Nice spec, very similar to what I will be building in a few months.
Can't see any major problems at all. Just a few things to think about:
1.) Presumably you have an OS?
2.) Just wondering if you could buy a gfx card at stock speeds, save a few pennies and overclock it yourself.. It is a very simple process these days.
3.) Have you given any thought to backups? I often see people with nice specs like yours but only 1x HDD appears on their list. Maybe you already have an external drive, but it is worth considering something if not, even just a 120gig drive you can use as slave and backup files/important apps to.. A bit nit picky though I grant you! :)[/quote:588010a583]
1) Yep
2) Its an extra £120 which is stretching my already stretched budget and i only have a 19\" monitor so max res i play at 1280x1024. Only games im anticipating playing mostly is Crysis and COD4 so hope its fast enough. At the moment i play cod2 and BF2 on my 9800pro. Havent experienced DX9 yet:(
3) yeh i have an external backup and my other comp can acts as a backup place as well
thx for the help
If you are only playing at 1280x1024 maximum resolution I'd seriously consider a 320MB GTS card, this would create some space in your budget to up the CPU to a E6600 (which is more or less the sweet spot for price/performance).
Have a trawl around the web for 320MB v 640MB reviews, you'll be suprised at the results. Here's one to get you started.... http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=7842

I think u should stick with the G11, LCD panel's not really worth the extra £18. All i needed to know wen i was playing was the fps and ping/latency which i could get to show up by typing stuff in the console. 'twas displayed in corner of the screen so not in the way of anything.

Well here they are, pics of my new system. Must say the case is really nice and good cooling. When i first went into bios i was getting temps of 70c and mounting the scythe ninja was hell. Had to mount outside the case so i can make sure the push pins were fully in and locked. Once that was done, i was getting temps of 21c, not bad. Case is a bit cramped but if you dont plan on putting anything else in your set. Plenty of extra HD space and fans are really good. 120mm at front, rear and 92mm side with two dust filters.

8800GTS is long but not to long for soprano case

scythe ninja fan just hovers over the first ram module, since its height isnt fixed you can raise the fanjust above the memory module

The p5k heatsinks are no where near the scythe so shouldnt worry about that

Still need to stretch this bird to its limit:) BF2 looks superb all on high settings. Hope this helps people currently building.
Looking good 8) that is one big mofo of a heatsink
