Im looking for a socket 939 motherboard for my newly purchased amd athlon 3800+. Im building a full pc, but im going through the components in order.

Ive narrowed it down to the following (all from this site). Could anybody help me narrow the choice down, or even recomend a different one? Im new to computer buidling and all these motherboards seems very similar.

Gigabyte K8N-SLi
Asus A8N-SLi NF4
MSI K8N SLi-Fi
MSI RD480 Neo2-FI
ABit KN8 SLi
Gigabyte K8N-Pro

Thanks for all your help!

To make a good choice, specifying the processor isnt really enough information. If you plan on using DDR2 RAM, for example, then it would affect the choice of a motherboard. Likewise with graphics - are you AGP or PCI-e?

Personally i offer people the following recommendation:
Asrock 939 Dual SATA2 PCI-E AGP
(Aria's link: http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductsList.asp?Name=Asrock+939+Dual
first product on the page).

It's only £40, and with an expansion card it will also be able to take the new M2 processors and DDR2 RAM. For us dirt poor PC builders on very tight budgets it's a no brainer.

An upgrade i would highly recommend if you currently have an AGP card and want to upgrade at some point in the next year or so.

If your interested in overclocking may i suggest DFI motherboards?

Recently i've been impressed with ASUS.

Very cheap & reliable.
