View Full Version : Windows 7 Help
Hey all,
Ive just installed windows 7.
Im (obviously) connected to the internet using the netgear WG111v3 Smart Wizard.
(i updated the drivers before using it)
Now my problem is, It keeps saying "Validate Settings" Whenever i close it, it refreshes seconds later.
Ive phoned, NEtgear, who said "because you bought your router and dongle from Virgin media, it is them you need to call" so i phoned virgin media.. "Ill redirect you to the Technical support team"
** Explains the problem to the woman **
"Ok Aaron, This is a subscription service, if you pay a one of payment of £60, for this month, we can then help you. We work at a no resolution, no fee basis."
Hold on.. Your going to charge me for one solution?
"Well its not just one, we can help with everything"
No thanks.. Ill try netgear again.
Instead of wasting phone bill, i thought id ask the people on here.
PLEASE HELP MEEE ! :)

Do the windows drivers work? Without installing the software?
IE uninstall it and let windows find a driver.
Did you need to use the smart wizard? are you connected via ethernet or wireless? Is does it support windows 7?

Dude i love you.
I uninstalled it. When i plugged it back in(without installing) it told me it had been previously instaled wrong, but couldnt locate the drivers. So i used the driver previous. And its worked!!
+rep Thank you lots !
Solved <3
Glad to be of help :) Often the default drivers are all you require. Stuff like GPU and audio it's best to get the latest.

Lol, Sorry, :P Its escapism :P
And yeah I looked there, but i think i got the wrong section o.O
Edit: Got this page.. Now im not sure which one of them http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/download-center.aspx?kw=GA-945&ck=
Need to know the model no. of the mobo to find out which onboard graphics it has. This is the GPU I was talking about before. Once you know the chipset, google it and you should be able to download the latest driver from the chipset maker.
Could be intel, ati, nvidia, sis and so on.
Start at http://www.gigabyte.eu/support-downloads/download-center.aspx. You'll need to know the model of your motherboard, enter that and you should get a list of drivers, just look for the one for the onboard video.
What i know is:
Intel 945 S-Series: GA-945

I also im not sure which one has the on board video o.o
Pop over to the Intel website and download the latest driver.
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2115&DwnldID=18223&lang=eng
Is probably it.
Windows 7 will tell you the model number of a Gigabyte board if you're lucky. Start | Devices and Printers, then click on the picture of the the device that should look like a computer and will have the name of your computer under it. The status bar at the bottom should then show the "Manufacturer" as Gigabyte and the "Model" is the model of your motherboard.
ok i cant find my driver :(

OMG.. Again! I love you guys your all amazing.
I think we know the model and chipset, however there is some software called PC Wizard 2010 (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/pc-wizard.html) which gives you a breath taking amount of info.
ok i cant find my driver :(
Did you try the other link?
Ok so ive got this page:
http://www.gigabyte.eu/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2669&dl=1#dl
It doesnt have video o.O
To find out the model of your Gigabyte motherboard:
1. Make sure you have a pen and paper handy, or a mobile phone just to note down the model.
2. Save anything you have running and restart your computer.
3. When you see the BIOS post screen, press Pause Break on your keyboard. The BIOS post screen will look similar to this (http://i26.tinypic.com/2429chs.jpg).
4. In that image which I just linked to, the model number is GA-MA790X-UDP. Your model number will be in the same place. Note it down.
Then let Windows boot again, and you can look up that model number on http://www.giga-byte.com
*cough* Link *cough*
*cough* confused *cough* o.O
The link is direct to the driver you require.

It may not be visible in that picture on that page, but it is likely that your video output is under the parallel port. The Specifications page says that your onboard graphics is integrated into your north bridge, and that your north bridge chipset is Intel® 945GC Express Chipset.
On Gigabyte's product page for that motherboard, there are graphics drivers for Windows Vista. They probably work with Windows 7 too.
Oh my lol. Do I have to do everything for you? :D

I'm having a the problem with windows seven
This time with MSN.
Before I installed windows seven I was able to send web cam only two another member of my friends list.
Now the window seven is installed, whenever I send a request or someone sends me a request it automatically declines this.
I seem to be only able to send a video call which includes using the microphone. I only want to send my web cam.
Any ideas to fix
thanks everybody
Bump, still having trouble.
Possibly a driver issue. Have you got the driver from website or Windows driver?
