View Full Version : Who always waits by a window/door when you have a delivery?
I Always wait by my door, because im paranoid all of my family will go deaf or die and wont get the door and then i wont get my package D:
I cant listen to headphones now :(
Im normally not in when parcels are expected but i usually make an effort to listen out for the courier when i am at home though
I tend not to buy much online these days to be honest.
i love running up and banging on door and barking like a dog- scares em lol
and all my impatience vanishes
Ha your not alone Sean with this one, i've been known to stand by the window when waiting on something valuable
I also do it with Take Away deliveries ha
Currently waiting for my case i bought from Gilgamesh, its out for delivery.

Yep same, but im waiting for my 24" LED BenQ monitor
Same for me, I pretty much camp the door if I'm at home.
If I'm at work I'm always mailing or phoning my other half to make sure.
What case did you buy from Gilgamesh Wayne?
I'm totally bored of my 900, been looking around for a new one & I sort of like the Cosmos or maybe one of those fractal design ones.
Fleabay here I come......more door camping :D

Get a fractal, best case i have ever had. ITS AWESOME
He did me a great deal on the Thermaltake Element G he had, i got it for £43 delivered.
Good airflow? or rather how good is the airflow compared to a 900?
I really hate this case now, the design for wiring & the sheer amount of dust it draws coupled with 0 noise blocking has done it for me.

Aye he is a good lad to deal with :)
Well its got a 200mm fan infornt, 230mm on the side and 200mm in the roof.
Fingers crossed pretty good.
I'll put some picks up when it gets here.

It has good wiring and noise dampening, the airflow is pants with stock fans. you really need to replace them
Yea, i wait looking, listening!! Drives me mental! I do leave a note for the driver if i have to pop out to leave delivery with a neighbour (Awesome neighbours).
What i hate is waiting all day and the git decides not to deliver!! I then have to drive to the 'City Link' depot to pick up the parcel. Happened a few times now!

Still waiting here as well.
Having a move around in my spareroom/office to kill the time.
“Patience is a virtue, Possess it if you can, Seldom found in woman, Never found in man”.
I wait near the door/window as I've experienced in the past from couriers that I have been 'carded' but I've got no card, nor anyone even coming to my house.
Annoying when that happens.
HE HAS COMEEEEEEEEEE
Do you scream that out often :D :P :)

Even better :D :p :)
Don't wait by the door at all, no point as my flat at uni has an awesomeloud buzzer on the intercom. I buy almost everything online except my weekly groceries (which I used to get online!).
When I'm at home we have a fairly loud doorbell, so providing the driver sees that, it should be fine. Surprising how often they don't ring it though and just knock.

Its called having a job...

Oh, sorry, you work for Aria do you? Or do you have a job that lets you do what you want when you want to?Get paid for surfing the net?
Whenever I wait it for something it never comes. Nip out for 3 minutes and..... there's a card on the mat left by the courier.

I do, but I tend not to to avoid any possible let downs.
I don't really wait by the door but any time I hear a car in the street I jump up and run to the front of the house

Nope, Dont work for Aria but im lucky enough to run my own business with my dad. Dont normally get time to come on the forum in the day as im usually too busy but i pop in when i waiting for a machine to finish or somthing.:thumb:
I do because the people in my area are absolute morons, a postman couldn't fit a dvd through my postbox once...my postbox is big and i mean big.
no. my dad is the postman so im lucky. but it it coming through a different way (like parcel force or some thing) then yes i do

We have one of them doorbells with the wireless plug-in bell thing, so I always bump that from the kitchen and plug it in right next to me.

i hardly ever get to order shiny stuff lol
i nearly always have stuff delivered to work, that way someone is always there and the carriers know it.

Same, always at work, unless its a weekend or a holiday.
I usually find some excuse to nonchanantly wander out to the kitchen window when my 'superior' household hearing twitches at the slightest outside noise.

I'm usually asleep when my stuff gets delivered although as of late I am usually buzzing at 8 in the morning as I can't wait to get my new toys
Same, delivered to my work. Security is always there 24/7 :)
If i had my stuff sent to work, it most likely wouldnt be there by the time I found out about it.

Did he do what my postmen sometimes do, and wrestle with it until it fits through.

That reminded me of something I used to do when I was a kid. (13/14)
I'd hide behind the door when I knew the postman was due an start pulling at the post and bark like a dog. Was funny watching the postman run back up the path :D

Haha, if i see one of those people dropping ads through people door i wait there, and then when it comes through i push it back through :D
Been up early today to catch a delivery, still waiting! Pah, could have had that lie in after all.
tystar, your story is quite incredible. You actually acted like a dog when the post came through? Was this just once or many times? Did you bring the paper in your mouth to your parents too?
Our postman has had to contend with our unusually small letterbox for years now. Everything (I mean everything) comes through bent in two. Fortunately we recently got a new postbox, problem solved (only took a decade of living here!). The postie also sometimes leaves DVDs and similar items on the doorstep! I had two blu rays on my doorstep for around 3 days without realising the were there as they were tucked around the side, honestly. Glad they weren't stolen as people have nicked stuff off the doorstep before, from buckets (no idea why) to beer (obvious reason why).
