hi buddy. I got the Guru fan conroller and a A8N SLi mobo

when it boots up it always goes to normal mode which in my
EZI COOL case is quite noisy. I set it to auto. or it can be
config'd to choose fan speed depending on what your running.
But until PC boots up and you start doing stuff it will never defualt
to quite mode.....hope that helps.

p.s you could try sticking pencils in the fans before boot up

joke .....dont do it :P

You wanna OC a media centre HTPC rig? Most people are actively trying to underclock them and get them to run as cool as possible! :?

Or do you mean you're using Win XP Media Centre as your OS cos' it set you back less than XP Pro?

Oh yeah... there's always Speedfan if you want to tweak...
