Guys, im thinking of cutting a window in the side of my shuttle and puting a mesh panel in to improve air to the GPU. anyone know where I can buy suitable mesh to do this ?

Its just regular garden mesh, people call it modders mesh and charge 3 times the price.

Try Homebase too.

I dunno what section i just walked around the gardening warehouse.

just got myself some mesh off of ebay, £1.50 for a bit the right size, just have to build up the courage to cut the case now

What are you using to cut it?

Remember to remove the side panel for cutting or else you'll fill the case up with metal dust.

Cheers, ill just make sure im using a good quality, new metal blade (and remember to turn the pendulum motion off on the jigsaw :-)

a jigsaw, and yes I will be taking the pannel off and taking it far away from any components

Also you need to masking tape around where you intend to cut as the jigsaw will bounce and make a mess of the panel.

The Mesh, this was described as vivarium filter mesh or something on ebay

Bent into Shape and pushed through the hole, stuck with 3m mounting tape

Finaly back in situ on the shuttle, gives a view of my 8800gt and lets lots of loverly air in giving a 7c drop at idle, load to be tested

That looks pretty good mate.

Good effort.

You could always spray paint that as well.

yes, the mesh is black (ish) and i touched up the cuts in the case with black so it looks better than i thought it would for a first attempt

its a possibility, i like building stuff but not usually in metal so it is a new experience
