View Full Version : Another RMA Ram question!

I ordered a stick of RAM about 3 weeks ago to go alongside a system I ordered at the same time.

Due to a lack of info regarding the type of RAM included with the system, I took a punt and it turned out it was the wrong type (wrong frequency or something!).

I RMA'd it within a couple of days (so around 3 weeks ago via recorded delivery) and only today have received a mail to say that Aria have received it.

Is this normal? Also, reading the other RMA for RAM threads on here, what are the chances of it being replaced!?

Thanks for any help, Paul

Glad to see its not just me. I RMAed my mmotherboard on the 13 April. Only got the recived email last friday 28th and still nothing about testing. Of the 15 emails I have sent none have been replied. I onyl have had success on the phone.

So to answer, yes, seems normal to me. Oh ***** has much more efficient(or exsistant) customer server, you might want to try there in future

I'm getting a bit peed by the RMA service now!

I've still not heard anything about the RMA of the stick of RAM - even though it was agreed with one of the Aria engineers (Stephen?) that this would be a simple swap as I ordered the wrong kind due to a lack of info on the Aria site.

This was on the 16th April and I still feel no further forward.

I have sent another email to Customer Service - although they never get a response (which is VERY poor).

Is there anybody that can have a look into this please!!!?

Thanks, Paul

Good to hear it's sorted :)
I'll have a look at anyway so we can plug any holes, things go wrong sometimes but i feel it is our duty to learn and limit the chances of it happening again ;)

Looks like I spoke to soon!

The replacement RAM arrived on Monday which the tech at Aria recommended, but it still does not work!

Whenever I install it and turn on the machine, I get 5 beeps (medium length) and I think the problem is still that one stick is of a different timing to the other (I think - one is marked 555 and the other 667). I am led to believe that this should be ok?

Anyway, the RAM sticks have the following markings:-

1) PC2-5300U-555-12
2) VS512-667-D2

And the motherboard is marked ABIT NF-M2S

I'm not that hot on PC stuff, so not sure if this is all compatible or what the POST beeps mean?

Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks, Paul
