Aww damnit I just got a Gigabyte DS3 the other month. Fab board but it uses DDR2. Oh well, there's always one of the other machines to upgrade...looks like a nice P35-DS3R would be the ticket :)

Oooh excellent, it uses the ICH9R, the DS3 has an ICH8 (non R) which caused some problems for lots of peeps recently. Looks like Gigabyte have learned from that :)

Yeah but from what i read (can't remember where it was though) DDR3 will run at timings of something like CAS7 @ 1066mhz and therefore no faster than DDR2, for now anyway, and will cost mega bucks so it wont become \"mainstream\" for a while imho.
