AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.80GHz Processor
NZXT Hades Midi Tower Gaming Case - Black1
TB Western Digital WD1002FAEX Caviar Black 3.5" SATA III Hard Drive
LG E2250V 22" Widescreen LED Monitor - Glossy Black
Corsair HX Series 850W Modular ATX2.2 SLI/Crossfire Compliant Power Supply
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850 TOXIC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Asus Crosshair IV Formula AMD 890FX (Socket AM3) DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard
OCZ Gold 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit
This is what I have so far, plus a monitor and I've pretty much reached my budget. I'm wondering if all the parts are compatible and if the case would be able to accommodate all the hardware.
Personally i would get an i7 930, it thumps the intel 6 cores.

i would get a better case, such as the Antec 902 or 1200, or CoolerMaster 932 HAF
For that budget I would certainly consider adding an SSD, as it would add to the system performance. :)
+1 to the Intel path also.
What will the system be used for mainly (eg. gaming in which case 6GB mem is enough)?
planning on sticking with stock heatsink for cpu, not going to cut it if u want to clock it up abit

I have added up all the above and it is well short of 1300 pounds.
Still, I am not sure if you would need to reinforce the floor before building such a heavy rig. :knock::knock: :weeee

Is it close enough to £1300 for you?
Includes blu ray drive and an alternative CPU heatsink (you're gonna want to crank that 930 up a bit.)
If possible, get an SSD as well.

LOL at these intel fan boi's.
yes get intel. in a year when sandy bridge is out you will be lacking with a silly quad core with NO upgrade path unless you can afford £800 for an i7 980x.
with the AMD 1055t on the crosshair 4 890fx.. it is confirmed that bulldozer will be compatible with 890fx AM3. cough.. cough.... i think i might die in a mo.. oh wait.
large budget i wouldnt spend that much but heres my recommendation esp because more cores is better then fake cores and windows 7 and DX11 loves more cores..
just my opinion though ;D could easily get a cheaper psu and get a sappire vapour x 5850, and it would be free delivery no? so you could get a titan fenrir cooler too all under £1300. went for the better monitor as the monitor you suggested is the 1650x1050 res and tbh you want a 1080p monitor ;D (personally i think 1200p would be better but they seem to be disappearing:/)
