Creating a directory

I'm looking at creating a directory site and I need the following requirements met:



Must be easily searchable
Must be able to have "featured ads" in each catagory
100% customisable front page
Ideally, the ability to put featured ads at the top of a search listing


Does anyone know of a free solution that would do this? Or even most of it?

I just want something I can customise, rather than having to write the whole lot from the ground up! :lol:

Joomla. Wordpress isn't very good for user submitted content imo.

Yeah, although there are quite a few good directory addons for wordpress too...
