Some shots I took last year, weather was pretty mixed and it was my first airshow with my DSLR (400D). With the next one only a few weeks away I'd thought I would dig them out:

Hoping the weather is a bit better this year. If the forcasts are good I might even hire out some better prime glass.

Nice shots :thumb:, if it were me i think i would try a slightly slower shutter speed on the helicopters to get a little more movement on the rotors?

Thanks. Indeed I did think that, problem was the weather and the low light conditions. The amount of light kept changing so I had to try and use both ISO and Shutter Speed to keep the shots usable. Not to mention my cheap glass, but hoping for better weather this year.

Great shots.
I had the privilege to see a Vulcan at an airshow at RAF Valley many years ago.
Once seen (and heard),never forgotten. :)

Gah, the time(s?) I've been to shows where XH558 was to appear it couldn't because of technical difficulties or weather. Disappointing.

It didnt make it to kemble due to tech problems, and rumours of money issues, from what i heard it was mainly air worthiness certificate issues, due to problems with the landing gear still, which plagued it all last year.

It should be into Brize in the next few days (if it's not already there) and operating the rest of the show season from there.

The 2 Dutch F-16's were at kemble this year :) those are a really well turned out team all-round and really good to see them at smaller shows :)

I disagree.
My dad painted a rather special hawker hunter.
And the airshows I used to go to, IT, was the star of the show.

Oh, I've seen it a few times. 'Miss Demeanour', is it?

Yeah ^.^

It was my dad that painted it :)
I just created a magazine for modellers who want to create a scale model of it.

What sort of lens used to get as close as these shots?

I assume that was aimed at me. Most of the shots have been cropped, but the kit was a Canon 400D body with a Sigma 70-300mm APO Telephoto lense.

I went again this year, I'll try and get some shots processed and uploaded later in the week.

70-300? OK nothing too crazy then.
