Another one on the way out?

Anyone got any suggestions as to what to do before I dismiss this poor little guy as buggered and chuck him out?

Note that the computer is off, so it's not that the display cable isn't connected properly. You very briefly see the "No Signal" message flash up, then it goes into it's death cries.

What happens when the computer is on?:)

I see it gives a quick message (not very clear), but if the PC is then the power on LED should change colour (sleep mode).:confused:

EDIT: sorry it looks like the LED does change from green to orange (not very clear).

I left it in standby for quite a while after taking that video and it seems to be displaying again, but not sure how long for.

When the computer was off, the green LED would come on as usual, then it would flash up that message very briefly. The message says "No signal" because the computer is off. Normally it'd display that message for a few seconds longer. Then the LED goes orange as it goes into standby.

When I put the computer on, it remained in standby with the orange LED. The LED would normally go green and then I'd get a picture. Then after about half an hour, the LED went green again and i got a picture. It was a very dark, flickery picture but now after leaving it on for a while, the flickering seems ot have stopped and it's back to its normal brightness.

All I can think of is:
- Faulty cable (check it is not loosely connected)
- Faulty monitor (try monitor on another PC)
- Graphic card connection faulty (check with another GFX)
