I wish to replace the stock cooler with a after market one. It will be air based, not water.

Not a lot of options designed for the 5770, I can't think of any atm. I'd be interested to know what you find.

if theres sufficient cooling/airflow in the case would there be a need for a gfx card cooler?

good choice :D better with a 3-pin 120mm fan so it can just plug into a header on your motherboard :)

Thats what i was thinking, when i had mine i would run at around 900\1400 and would get temps no more than 54oC in my Antec 300, and that was with the stock powercolour, the cheapest of the cheap 5770s

if you do have the powercolour 5770 then there isn't a choice to replace the stock cooler as there are no mounting holes for screws.

also on the arctic L2 Pro it does say this for the 5770 and 5750... *Accessories may not totally fit on the cards

EDIT: I used to run my 5770 on a Pentium D in an original PCIe 1.0 slot, of course the CPU was a bottle neck but i cant see any PCIe x16 lane being a bottleneck and you could see the card wanted to do a lot more than the CPU would let it.

Can you get additional coolers for GFX's?
