I'm new here, but regularly browse and post in other PC hardware forums. Aria seems like a good community, backed by a decent shop, so I thought I'd get in on some of the action!

I'm a hardware enthusiast, currently running the setup below:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
ASUS Crosshair III Formula
G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3 (2x2GB) PC3-12800CL7 (7-8-7-24 @ 1600MHz)
Corsair H50 (2x Yate Loon 1200RPM Push-Pull Exhaust)
BFG Geforce GTX280 OC
Corsair HX620 Modular power supply
Creative X-Fi Xtremegamer
2x250GB WD HDDs (RAID 0)
500GB Seagate storage
ASUS DVD-RW
Zalman ZM-MFC1+ Fan controller
Antec P182SE case with 3x Yate Loon 1200RPM fans

For more info and photos, have a look here (http://www.vortez.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=583).

I've managed to get my hands on an ATI 5770 too, so I'm seriously contemplating buying another and going crossfire for some direct X 11 loveliness. I hope Aria can come through on a good deal for one as then I can post a nice review on the site.

So, hello!

Hello there, running two 5770s here and there scale very well indeed in crossfire. Almost doubles your fps in everything. Well worth the minimal investment they are!

Thanks for all the kind words guys.

@Snakedoc

I've got one so far and I swapped it in for my GTX280 and was very surprised to see how close they were in absolute performance. Also, DiRT 2 is a lot prettier! I figured I could sell the GTX280 and still have a lot of change left for another 5770, and judging by some of the reviews and as you say, the scaling is immense in crossfire! There's something awesome about having two graphics cards as well! I've never had a multi GPU setup before, mainly because of issues like microstutter etc, though I understand that's a thing of the past? Have you had any issues with the two 5770s?

None at all apart from 3d mark vantage, one benchmark does stutter. All my games play perfectly well and dont suffer any issues. I can finally play GTA4 as it was meant to be played! They are not great overclockers for sure. But current dx11 games performance is very good. I got similar performance to an 480 in the uniengine benchmark. A GPU which is over twice the price of the two cards. When I am back on the net properly, I will download the new one and pop up some benchmarks.
