Not a clue, I can find out when I get back this evening. I think it's about 2mb...SamKnows does in fact not know. It thinks best I can get is 512Kb and I know for a fact it's at least 1mb but am almost positive it's 2mb.

Paying for 8Mb, getting about 6Mb, 700 metres away from the exchange. Total population of the three villages it serves comes to about 4,000 I think.

A genuine low one:
839 residential premises: 75 non-residential premises.
Middle of Sussex. Hardly the sticks.
PS Do two lines to one place count as two premises? I have a pair.

That is a sore point.
Two years ago, Speedtest (http://www.speedtest.net/) reported me as getting better than 6 Mb/s.
More recently I have been lucky to get 2 Mb/s.
I also go through phases when it is worse than dial-up. (Just been through one of those.) I have to get Pipex, which supplies it, to intervene.
BT, as reported by Speedtester (http://www.speedtester.bt.com/), has just reset the IP Profile to 2000 Kbps.

Where are you? The Outer Hebrides?
It is a pity that the original question did not ask about DSL connection speeds. It would have been interesting to see if there is any correlation.

I'm on the same road as my exchange (although its the end of the high street through the town, so its quite long ). I am currently sync'd at 7.8mb, but get around 7.6mb. But that may change over the next few days with the new ISP and their initial fluctuating speed period.. No LLU for me though :(
