Hey, a friends got around £170 ex vat to spend on a pc (we buying through work so its all good). We went a little over budget but hopefully its well worth it.

He uses mainly for browsing the internet, but will also occasionally play old games (really old!) like Age of Empires 2! Also watching films and playing music, hence the large storage

We have some DDR2 ram lying around (corsair xms2 xtreme!) so we are sorted for this. Also have an OS, monitor, keyboard, etc.

This is what we came up with (he likes the case for the lights, window, etc)

Can anyone forsee and issues? Can I get better for the money? Not to good on the lower-end stuff.

The PSU is gonna be really cheap and likely noisy, plus if it pops it'll offer no protection at all to the rest of the system.

Most on here will tell you the same, don't buy a cheap PSU.

Otherwise looks pretty good, for any HD MKV rips you'll most likely need a proper graphics card.

agreed, get an OCZ 400W, also go for a small, plain hidable case MATX as lights are annoying when watching films :)

Yeah I was a little concerned by the fact it was £20 for both! Going to try and squeeze some extra cash out of him and go for the Xigmatek Asgard and OCZ 400w.

You can always get a 500GB HDD to start and add another later, saves nearly enough for the PSU.
