I wish to purchase a monitor (not for gaming). I've two options as follows:

Viewsonic VA2213W 22" TFT Monitor 1920x1080
300cd/m2 16000:1 5ms VGA W/Mount Black
Panel Surface: Anti-Glare, Hard coating (3H)

Samsung SM-2233SN 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor
1920x1080 Resolution, TN Panel, 15,000:1 Contrast Ratio
5ms Response Time, 300 cd/m2 Brightness, 1x Analogue Input

Which one should I go for? I prefer monitor screen with "anti-glare" or "anti-reflective" feature. Do you think the Samsung SM-2233SN has this feature?

Thanks.

cant see that feature on samsungs site for that monitor,
http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/pc-peripherals/monitors/essential/LS22CMYKF/EN/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=specification

however a quick google showed a few ebay auctions that list anti glare as a feature, bah sorry don't seem to have helped

Thanks. I don't like "reflective" screen... I have one Dell laptop with such screen and I can only work comfortably with all the lights surrounding me off.

By the way, do you think Viewsonic VA2213W or Samsung SM-2233SN is better?

Thanks.

ive not used any viewsonic before but i have a 22inch samsung in front me me atm and i think its good, decent design, good viewing angles, no ghosting in games no dead pixels after a year so based on my previous experience id probably get another one.

i have 2 sm 2333's which are the 23" version and they dont reflect light at all my monitors are facing the light and i've never had any glare problems at all also i would go for the samsung anyway they look much nicer imo.

No standard desk TN panels have glare AFAIK.

A few laptop manufactures put a glass frame on top of the screen though which can cause glare.

We have the viewsonic on display at my work and it seems a lot less reflective that the others, not to my personal taste but for you may be good, definitely noticeably less glossy.

I got two reviews for the Viewsonic VA2213W as follows:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B001QCZX9E/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

[Review-A]
Excellent value for money, worked straight out of the box. Like any lcd, the resolution on text, for example, is poor versus an old CRT screen (which I replaced with this) but the space saving was huge.

[Review-B]
i received this monitor and plugged it into my tower, the image quality is good however in the screen resolution properties i tried to change it to 1920x1080 as the monitor is advertised as having this resolution but it only goes up to 1600x1200 and also it comes with a european plug so be prepared to bye an adaptor, apart from that the monitor is good.

Do you think "the poor text resolution" is because of using non-native resolution (e.g. other than 1920x1080 as advertised)?

Do you think the problem of Review-B is because of the limitation of the graphic card resolution?

Thanks.
