Especially as it says at the bottom; "This is an XFX Gamertainment Campaign...." etc..

Still good tho - definitely worked, as there are loads of forums talking about it!

It is marketing, there are some rather cool video's/movies that go along with this, do some searching you will find them.

Oh and we have these in stock by the way, not sure I have number 68 though? :D

I do like the gun image...although it would be better suited if it were a GTX480 because then it could shoot plasma balls from the waste heat output. :D

Looks possibly genuine to me, they dont need to hype it that much ....... more likely they dont want the headache of telling someone that buys it later that its stolen

An advertising campaign cleverly disguised within a classic gaming plot scenario. Advertising that entertains as if the viewer is in middle of an actual game.

these are the cream of the crop 5970's with 4gb of ram and factory oc'ed so expect extremely overpriced card's i would rather just by a normal 5970 and stick a waterblock on it and have it much cooler and quiter and also cheaper.

These are as mentioned 4GB Factory Overclocked 5970s with 6 Mini DP connectors on the back for Eyefinity 6. Still not worth $10k though lol!

If I had to guess, I'd say that people actually thought it was stolen and bidded silly amounts, but as the XFX e-mail mentions, it is a genuine listing lol.

If you take a look at the bids, two users with zero feedback are the ones that pushed it up, my guess is they will "disappear" after the auction ends.

no idea, but the 3870 i just got shows as 1024mb in Catalyst Control Center, and RAM type as HyperMemory ... intersting as it's supposed to be DDR4 and 512mb :confused:
