Crash was his own fault by the looks of it, It was wet. You cant expect anything to grip the road at that type of speed...:o

A640 ftw :D

One of my favourite roads, and only 10 mins drive from here, I spun my old 306 on the dam wall at the bottom... my mate did the same a few months earlier, at the other end of the wall and ended up in the wall :(

Edit just watched the end.. Im now wary... it even looks like my civic.. :(

the only vid is the one i linked above.

As for the accident, the police attended and were fine as nobody else was involved. The road is a 60 limit, so although his speed was too fast for the conditions, he wasnt speeding. But anyway, enough. Didnt post this here for everybody to comment on the crash, was only sharing the vid so gibbo could see the footage of the evo.

It was a 30mph area, lots of people about, generally in 30's I am very well behaved and was not even aware I was on camera.

My view is you speed in a 30mph you deserve all you get, unless its one of the stupid 30mph zones, but if its a built up area, with lots of people about then stick to the limit.

Agreed.. Although there are a lot of 20mph zones springing up around here, which are just irritatingly slow!

Yep, were fortunate, not got 20 zones around where I live. :)

Trust me in national speed limit areas, I just drive as fast as the road and mu skill allows. :D

I am sure MrLOL knows this considering he asked me to slow down a bit. :D

Seriously I've not touched alcohal, well for quite a long time. But yeah was a really nice place, pub was called "The Malt House", great roads around it though a bit bumpy.

I'm with you on that one, unless it is the middle of the night and really good viability I try to stick to the 30's. Only takes one kid run out from behind a bus to ruin both your lives.

Most annoying drivers for me are those that drive 40MPH on an open road with a national speed limit, then continue at 40MPH past a school at lunch time with parked cars everywhere. Closely followed by old people who could not reach a speed limit if what little life they have left in them depended upon it.

Haha, those are my pet hate as well. Though to be honest if someone is doing 40mph in a national speed limit I really won't be staying behind them.

Or the other pet hate are the ones who slow down to like 30-40mph for the slightest of bends and then bury the throttle on the straights. Though such bends can be taken with ease well over 60mph....

I'm so glad its not just me who finds that annoying.. I'm a pretty calm person, but thats one of the few things that REALLY bug me  I was following someone the other day - admittedly it was along a country road, but it was a normal A road, with 2 full size lanes and trucks/buses easily passing.. This driver was slowing down to less than 10mph every time they passed a car. It was one of THE most irritating drives ever

The other thing that annoys me as well is when you get some impatient driver who starts giving an older person a lot of greif. Yes, older drivers can be annoying, but at least give them a chance to look twice if they want to. I was in Tescos car park today, and there was a really old guy driving a car - he must have been knocking on the door of 90, but was actually doing a lot better than most people his age. No over-revving, good spacial awareness etc. He came to a junction in the car park, and stopped there to look for all of 10 seconds, even though it was clear when he got there.. The guy behind him just sat there, on his horn for the whole time, and then got out the car and started giving him abuse till he drove off... IMO - thats completely out of order, and just as bad/annoying as someone driving at 40 in a 60 and then continuing at 40 in a 30...

Sounds like he needs to get off the steroids, or maybe empty his sack. I don't mind that older folk often take a little longer and aren't going to razz it through the lanes. It's when they are clearly scared to drive their cars anywhere near the speed limit that their licenses should be taken away.

There are far to many blind bends due to hedges on the ones by mine so you normally just have to bear it.

Agreed, but I wasn't going to ask him which one of those options it was

And yeah, agreed about the speed limit thing too..

Darryn. The guy with am E46 Touring and an E36 328i as a track car.

As for being stuck behind people, I think I scared someone the other day, driving the land rover sat at 30mph through a hamlet with 30mph limit, someone sat right up my bum, I got to the NSL sign, burried the throttle, gave them a cloud of diesel smoke and went round the next corners at near NSL...the landy grips rather well, although I wasn't impressed by the lorry coming the other way down the road half on my side of the road when I exited the corner, bit of a bum clencher that.

I hate those moments!! Spacial awareness mode goes into overdrive for about 2 seconds...
