Well, it's been 2 years, but the time has come to move on out. No, not that, silly! Moving ISP.

I have been with Freedom2Surf and i always recommended them to all my friends and family. They provided excellent service with speed an quality, along with a very quick responsive customer service. however, since they were bought out by Pipex (who i used back in the old 56K days!), everything has gone down hill at broadband speeds!!!

I have had several weeks of disconnections, slow speeds, email servers down, and no service at all for hours on some occasions. It just isn't good enough. I was going to wait until june, when Be ISP was scheduled to LLU my exchange. I kept visiting their website every few weeks, counting down the months! Yesterday, i checked again, only to find that my exchange has completely disappeared! Oh shirt :(

I found an excellent website called:
SamKnows (http://www.samknows.co.uk)
Upon checking my exchange, i discovered that my exchange was already LLU by EasyNet, and had been for almost a year! Well, buggery me.

Problem is, EasyNet isn't the actual ISP. That is provided by Sky as a Phone/TV/Broadband package. I am a little wary of Sky as an ISP. I don't know why exactly as they have never done me any harm before with my Sky TV package. It's strange how they have never mentioned to me or any of my neighbours about the potential to obtain 16 meg broadband.

So, i have asked F2s for my MAC code and as soon as it arrives, i'm off!!!

since Dave Rickards sold Pipex they have slowly gone down hill, even the other isps they have bought are going that way..F2S, Nildram..and then there is Pipex Homecall (which are even worse than Pipex) which is different to Pipex albeit same parent company..I was with Pipex for about 3 yr then moved after they started messing about, but the isp I went to (first time I went on the MAX product) went pear-shaped and quit trading lol luckily I asked for my mac after 9 days of being with them. I joined Nildram even though I knew they were owned by Pipex but wasn't doing what Pipex were but slowly things are getting that way. I can get Sky's full 16meg package but held off until the original problems were sorted out etc plus Be* are unbundling my exchange later this year

I have just asked or my mac from Pipex. Been with them for years (since the day broadband was available on the exchange) but they are too costly and I do not get a very good actual throughput. I am changing to vodafone at home. I have checked the line for a week now and the speed varies between 7 and 8 megs. Now to see what throughput I get when I eventually get the mac.
