Hi there

Had to share this with you guys as I think its rather impressive, this is todays average MPG for todays 27 mile trip into work:-

http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/3545/mpgnx.jpg

Thats all A and B roads, no full throttle but moving along smoothly with the traffic and been smooth on acceleration with speeds never exceeding 70mph though I did get too tempted at one roundabout and did a 4wheel drift. :D

Still I think an average of 32MPG for the trip into work in a car that can hit 60mph in 4s and top out around 170mph is very good going. :)

Though next week the expenses will be coming in:-
- 12 months road tax - £405
- 40k Service, all fluids - £350

But I am enjoying the car, my only niggle is wish the steering gave more communication back.

Not bad :D bet you couldn't get close to that with the stang?

Most of my motoring cost is nearly over this year,

4 new tyres £240
Insurance £338
Full service next week £120 (ex VW mechanic who's opened his own garage)
HIDS/side LEDs and fitting next week £80

Also wouldn't mind some PIAA silicone wipers £35

Hi there

If I drove the Stang in a similar fashion to work I'd get at best 16-18MPG. On the motorway you can just about touch 30MPG, but its more like 26MPG helped by its very long 5th gear (240mph top speed).

Are you sure? 240mph is very quick

Hi there

I mean as in gearing, top gear was geared for 240mph. Saleen claim they can hit 200mph, it probably could but I suspect things would start flying off, I'd say 185mph would be more realistic.

I wish i'd have got that from the Alfa :(

The Audi doesn't tell me what MPG i'm getting so i can kid myself it's better even when i drive like i'm on the Autobhan's lol

But hey the misses doesnt see it either so all good :D

Im not doing very well at the moment, lots of short journeys and not motorway runs..
41mpg average, civic diesel :(

Still 31mpg is pretty impressive for an evo, I know lots of 306's that dont do that, mates best was 6mpg... driving round mallory park quite quickly.

Hi there

Is it broke?

I certainly hope not. What would the normal average MPG be considering I do next to no motorway driving?

Hi there

Well seems to me its broke or your driving it pedal to metal everywhere or not making proper use of your gears.

Is it a manual or AUTO?

If manual you should be able to pull 30MPG on a run and 35-40MPG on the motorway again at cruising speeds.

It's manual. No chance at getting 30mpg on a general day to day use though, absolutely no chance! It's definately low 20's, but on the motorway I average high 30's.

edit: Just checked on e4fanatics and yeah, it seems about bang on.
