Simple question...

using 2 monitors, both DVI connection, is there a preferred/advised suggestion in regards to which connectors to use on a XFX HD 5770 ?

Is it better to use the 2 DVI sockets, or maybe make use of the HDMI socket for one monitor and use a HDMI to DVI cable (which i have) as this places less weight/strain on the back of the video card, and which DVI socket is considered the #1 monitor (or should be used for single monitor use)

cheers

For single montor use I dont think it makes any difference which DVI socket you use.
One DVI shares an output with the HDMI socket (which is why you cant Eyefinity 2DVI and the HDMI) so if you're dualing you'll need to use the one thats not shared and the HDMI.

hmmm, i'll have to go back and look at the instructions  ... don't remember it saying which was shared

while we're on the subject of that eyefinity thing, it says you have to use the DisplayPort .... but, could you get away with using one of those DisplayPort to HDMI adaptors i've seen around ?

Hope this helps.

'• To enable support for more than 2 monitors, “active” DisplayPort™ adapters/dongles are required (or monitors with direct DisplayPort™ connectivity must be used).'
