i jus brought myself a 7900gt from aria no less. can i jus point out that aria had the chepast price by about £20, well impressive, thank god for aria super specials ay guys?

and have been reading about how ppl have been upping the clock speeds on them from about 450/1350 ( gpu clock speed / memory speed ) to about 700/2000, but to do this they have needed to perform a simple votage mod, which is where the conductive ink comes in, to link two points on the board. and then the heat dissipation increases, which is why i need the better graphics card coolers. you need some ramsinks to send the memory that quick too, else they will melt , or something.

im sure im not the only person who would like a new graphics card cooler , cos the card i had for this, was a 6800gt, and that was so loud i put it on ebay. i think if i had aria graphics card coolers avaliable to me , that might not of been the case, i would of been able to make it quieter with a aftermarket cooler. and put the cooler on ebay , not the whole card.

regards.

What you need is one of these http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=16702

Sorry can't help with the conductive ink but i do know people do \"pencil mods\"

ah right, didnt see that there, pencil isnt reliable enuf connection, i would need something a little more reliable , cos the link is about 2cm long.

that cooler looks good tho, do you get those nice ramsinks shown in the picture with it?

thanks for the link mac124, very nice of you to go find it for me.

No probs mate, glad to help a fellow forum user and yes i believe you do get the ram sinks too, hmm 2cm link, what about the conductive pain you can / used to get to fix heated rear screens in cars, how conductive does it need to be?? Are we talking dead short ie zero ohms or a few ohms ie 10-20 or would hundreds of ohms be ok?

i think its just less resistance than the transistor its bypassing. cos then the signal will go thru the path you put on rather than the transistor.

but the main reason i dont really want to use pencil is cos the link wont be 100% reliable, if its a 20mm long. if it was shorter tho, i would use the pencil.

btw , for anyone else reading this, you get 8 ramsinks with the cooler previsouly mentioned. they look like quite nice ones too, and if your thinking of getting a 7900gt especialy for this, then the stock heatsink prevents you from putting the ramsinks on. so you do need to apply both the gpu cooler, and the ramsinks.

i was playing the new half life 2 : episode one game yesterday for about 3 hours, came out, and the gpu was sitting at 48, i was outstounded. my old 6800gt would be at 65 after that. and yes, that game does look VERY pretty with a 7900gt, HDR goodness, yummie! perfectly smoothe too, well worth the £175 aria are charging for it. easily.

mac124, i havent heard of that conductive paint for car rear screens? something i'll have to look into.

oh , and loved your story about the SFF pc you built , hardcore.
