View Full Version : Problem with Dual displays

Hi,

Today I received my brand spanking new Xerox TFTs. I have a dual display set up.

I've unpacked the monitors, plugged them in etc.

I've got a problem. With them side by side, one has brilliant, vivid colours, but the other is bland and washed out. Pastel yellow is very pale grey etc.

I've gone through the OSD etc and the screens are both set up the same way.

Is there anything in software (2* Nvidia Geforce 6600GT, btw) which could be doing something to contrast and colour over and above the monitor's settings?

Alternatively, do I need to send one of these back?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Tom.

As a first test, can you swap the monitors to each others VGA ports? That should at least isolate whether the problem is at the PC or monitor end.

Sorry - should have said, I did that and it's definitely software.

I've played about since then, because although I couldn't find it, I was sure Windows had gamma settings and I wondered whether those were askew.

I messed about some more and found they had been removed by the Nvidia control software, but Nvidia had their own settings to do the same, so I used those. Problem solved.

Thanks for replying.

so now they're alive properly - whats your verdict on the monitors?

Sweeeeeeeeet

These are absolutely beautiful pieces of kit. Amazing quality, great looking, work really well.

Buy the glass ones - they're not much more and it really adds to the quality and resilience of the whole package. Buy the Pixel check (at the price of the monitor) and buy two of these things for a dual display setup. It's quite simply a hilariously good amount of screen space.

PP - yes it would, but I've not a clue where my digicam is and a mobile phone photo would be like blasphemy with these bad boys.

What's the viewing angle like? My Samsung 710n only has a poor TN film panel so moving your head a bit in any direction changes the colours you see, especially if you are a little below the monitor.

Left-Right is pretty good.

Up-Down is a bit more noticable - you want to have the right amount of tilt.

Of course - if you want to watch from bed, just tilt the thing - the stand allows for that (although no swivel or height adjustment).

Not DVI, but I've not missed it.
