What sort of temps do these i7 4.20ghz pre-overclocked bundles (the ones sold here at aria) run at?

does the life span not get significantly shortened in overclocks like that due to high temps?

and am i right in thinking that 60 - 65 degrees (load temps) is the max you should go to if u plan to run ur processor for 5 years plus?

These CPUs run HOT....60-65 is totally fine, probably cooler than they run at stock with stock cooling ;)

65C is a good load temp for a stock i7, they are safe well into the 90s, they don't even throttle until 100C.

I've never had a CPU die on me and I've still got a heavily overclocked Q6600 which has been running nearly 24/7 for the last three years

The temperatures that the bundle will run at really depend on your case and it's airflow. During our testing, running for hours at 100% load on all cores, we can hit about 75-80C but even in the most demanding games you wouldn't stress the CPU even close to this level.

with these bundles, do you supply a sheet with all the required bios setting on incase the buyer needs to reset?

Just go into the bios and choose set to default settings.

usually its saved in the bios on a preset (doubt aria are any different)
you could probably ask for the settings if you lost them and get them send to you

Once the best settings are determined and fully stress tested we save the profile in bios so if you ever have a problem for whatever reason: power surge, accidentally cleared cmos etc.. you can always load up the "Aria" profile and your back at the stable overclocked settings :)

we don't really provide a sheet as one system settings will differ from the next.
