View Full Version : Signal jammer
hi,
if you fit a signal jammer to your car and the police pull you over are they allowed to pull you if they dont have communication with there radio? or any equickment?
I think thats a VERY dodgy area..
But yes, if you're talking about actul jamming of their radio, my opinion is that if you are breaking the law, then they are there to stop law breakers, so they are allowed to pull you over. The only implication for them is that it makes it more dangerous as they would not be able to call for backup if anything went bad..
Infact, just thinking about it - I remember watching a program where a police patrol unit pulled someone over, and had to use his phone to call for backup as the radio system had gone down due to a fault which was being fixed..
HI there
You mean a laser jammer? So when a police offer points a gun at you it prevents him from getting a reading?
If so these are illegal, most who have one have them concealed and when it jams the signal it bleeps like crazy so you slow down and then turn of the jamming. So what happens is police officer goes to take a reading and gets an error (saves you from getting caught speeding) but then when he tries again he gets a reading and by now you have slowed down so he can't prosecute. However if you fail to disabling the jamming he will pull you anyway on the suspicion your running jamming equipment.
My best advice is just don't speed or be very careful and selective on where you do decide to have fun and avoid accident blackspots.
but the jammer blocks out every signal so they wont be able to use there phone or radio or anything that is wireless
In that case, they could probably prosecute you for the offence you were committing and also perverting the course of justice and endangering the life of a police officer...
Just because they can't talk to anyone doesnt stop them being the police.
i mean cell jammers that they use communication to the HQ or phone system
I think the bottom line is yes they can pull you over as they can pull you over for just the suspicion of an offence. You don't actually have to have committed an offence for them to pull you over. Just because they don't have communication doesn't mean that your free not to be pulled over.
And can i ask why on earth are you asking anyway?
iv seen people using them on youtube for that purpous
You're an idiot.
what why??
1. Its illegal to have a signal jammer
2. Only idiots have signal jammers
3. Only an idiot would want a signal jammer

Well to answer your question then.
If a Police Officer suspects you of being about to commit to a crime, committing a crime or having committed a crime then he/she can pretty much do what they want.
This includes Chavs in Corsas with Signal Jammers.

There's always an EMP cannon, not sure how effective it would be though.
I used to have the plans for building one, the only really hard part is directing it at the intruding Radar speed gun fast enough.
The best way to avoid arrest is to simply put your fingers in your ears.
That way the cops can't read you your rights and have to let you go.
Try it, it works.:thumb:
The best way to avoid arrest is to not break the law.......
Couldnt they arrest you for resisting arrest??

Yes, but then they start reading you your rights and you're back to fingers in ears...

sounds good but what if they good to put the cuffs on you then is that a case of assault?
you have to aggree that the police get away with alot of brutality using the tazer etc...

During my time visiting various sections of the Merseyside Police force, I spoke with some armed response officers who told me that the tazer had only been used twice in the past year, which is very low, considering the number of arrests they make every year.
Not too sure what you're basing that statement on...

Pretty sure I don't agree actually... Unless you've given them multiple reasons to use it?
I find it odd that people would fit these!
The police can still arrest you. They do not need to call in for every move they make. If the police do arrest you and find the jammer, you could then face an unlimited fine and/or up to 2 years in jail for broadcasting without a license.
For a jammer to be that effective at long distance and cover at least the Tetra range (~300/400MHz?) and the cellular range (~900-1900MHz) it's got to be pretty large? Turning it on is probably like turning on the aircon system of a non-turbo diesel...
