View Full Version : Dont use city link
please i wont order again from this website if you use city link again will have to go and pickup my package from depo waited in all day they said they left a card but i was in my house no one came!!...by far the worst company ever this isnt the first time i have had issue with city link.
I go few parcels today from dpd they give you time frame also when it will come
Going to pickup my parcel now laters
I had the same problem mate.
Although the one driver wasn't able to open a gate so didn't leave a card.
Try and use a works address.
This subject has been discussed to death.
Unfortuantly it's to do with some of the drivers and sub contract drivers they use that give them a bad name.
Best of a bad bunch tbh...

My delivery was so early this morning, he woke me up!!! (07: something!!); another new driver, the last one was good, this one seems just a little eager; hopefully he will calm down and let me lie in a little longer next time.

Yehh I remember it was the morning for my chemistry exam and some man knocked at the door at like 8 o clock....twas AWESOME! I don't mind being woken up early to get my hands on some new hardware ;)
i perfer it to come nice an early before work puts you in a good mood for work lol
I checked an order status with City link at 6.48am once and got a knock at the door as the page loaded, was bizarre but set me up for the day :)

I am chronically ill, and struggle to work more than 1/2 a day, so being woken up an hour early left me feeling fuzzy, irritable and tired all morning.

thats a bit selfish to say such a thing everyone is choronically ill...

Oh, are they?, do they have an illness that means they are dropping from fatigue after 2 hours light work, and can spontaneously bleed to death at any moment??
Something the doctors dont have a clue abut what causes it, or how to cure it, and with a 42% mortality rate over 5 years??
(I have had it an estimated 9 years, but only diagnosed last year).

everyone dies
not trying to offend :)
this isnt the place to talk about something like this (:
My local Citylink (based on the Milton Park Trading Estate in Oxfordshire) are brilliant. I've been receiving deliveries from Aria via them for over 8 years and rarely experience problems. If I'm not in they always leave a card, and if I get back and call in, on many occasions they come back and deliver later that day; in some cases their driver has seen my car (good bloke, I've got to know him pretty well over the years) which is a Toyota Celica Gen 6 so there aren't many around, and has flashed his lights and given me the delivery there and then.
Far better than Parcelforce, who are a joke!
Last drop i got the driver was alright he turned up about 13:00 stoped in the office for 20min to have something to eat and drink and then went on his way, altho his english was v.bad his italian was a lot beta lol
part from that i can complain about city link service round my area
City link are awesome where i live. Great guys.
As said it depends upon the depot and drivers, never had a problem. Did have to go to depot couple of times as I couldn't guarantee I'd be in when they tried to re-deliver.
I seem to have a decent driver where I'm living now... but I also used to Live in Milton Keynes where they have their main base and the service was appalling. Their customer service is also shocking, they couldn't give a rats **** about inconveniencing you and making you collect from them. Lost count of the number of times I have been home all day and they've failed to deliver, failed to leave a card and claimed they've been... and don't mention the useless **** who simply put a parcel behind the hedge and called that delivered. If I wasn't for me seeing him do it from the window and chasing after him to have a go.. that could have been stolen. When I called them to complain... couldn't give a crap about it.
But now I've moved and the deliveries have been quick and drivers polite so far.

Very nice! If only all drivers were like this :) I've never had any problems with city link a part from late afternoon deliveries sometimes.
It's all down to the driver/depot. I find City Link excellent, whereas Parcel Force in my area are rubbish, often things arrive broken etc.

yea there one of the lesser evils of a bad bunch imo, they tend to have depots not to far from most people aswell
citilink are great but it would be great if aria could do royal mail for smaller items (i.e case fans, connection cables etc)

Since when?? I ordered a 2Gb SD card and it turned up via Citylink in a huge box!!
Admittedly that was over a year ago.
Pretty sure its been for a few years - definitely 3 or 4 at least. I think the system allocates whether it uses royal mail or citylink based on size/weight/value. You might've just found a bug in the old system!
CityLink have been great for me in Cardiff....well..about as great as a courier service that operates during my working hours at least (although they do sometimes come extra early before I leave for work).
I stopped ordering with Aria because they used Amtrak...now that was a poor courier..with a local depot 20miles away from Cardiff.....

Im never really impressed with Citylink due to a visit to one of their depots once, but to be honest delivery when it comes to the door is fine and now my only real bug bear is their Edinburgh depot is a 30min drive outside not ideal :(
As I have said before my City Link driver/Depot are excelent, no complaints at all.
I got two deliveries in the last two days, same driver, excellent service.
I normally get my deliveries to my work address.
Half of the times I end up going and collecting myself.
Royal Mail/Parcelforce or whatever they're called are crap. Half the time the goods never arrive, or they leave them on the doorstep, or they're damaged.
Give me CityLink or UPS any time.

Royal Mail have just returned a parcel I sent "Special Delivery" 6 weeks ago;no explanation of where it has been for those six weeks, or why no attempt was made to deliver it.
This is the 2nd time this has happened; I wont be using them again.
DPD, use them! much better than CItyLink

In what way are they better? Aria despatch to me one day, CityLink deliver the next. Without paying Courier rates I don't see how you can better that.

Thanks I'll give it a try.
Sadly, the person I was sending it to is back in Russian now, so the postage is going to be astronomical and it will take 2 months to arrive!!

I waited over 4 days for a "next day delivery"
When I checked the tracking details it said they had tried to deliver but no-one was in and I'd been carded - ******!
I went to the depot to pick it up and the bloke got arsey cos I didn't have a card - I told him I never got one and after an hour or so he let me have my parcel.
Citylink suck big time!

I had worse, they delivered it to the wrong address, didnt leave a card, and faked my sig!!
It took a month and the threat of calling the police before it got sorted.
I haven't had any problems with them.
I haven't had any problems with them.
The only problems that I have in the packaging of items sent to us.
I believe that all companies should add extra protection in the form of bubble wrapping items before placing them inside the shipping plastic bags.
I collected my £300 graphic card today that I brought from Aria and found the corners of the box were rounded off.

Royal Mail actually delivered a parcel to my door at gone 7:30pm the other night, i was mildly surprised, and pleased.
CityLink seem ok for me, deliveries arrive pretty much when expected, although i do go to lengths to ensure i am in.
The only big complaint i have is that annoying white and yellow plastic bag they put everything in, you cant see the condition of the item inside without opening it, and i got a modem/router delivered a couple of weeks back that had a puncture mark in the box, but no sign whatsoever on the plastic CityLink baggie... so i would rather see a clear bag be used
I would like to see added extra protection in the form of bubble wrapping items before placing them inside the shipping plastic bags.

+1:thumbsup: on that nothing worse than a damaged box even if the contents are ok
Personally I've never really had a problem, once they delivered after 2 days rather then 1, but the other numerous times it's been next day

I missed my delivery on Monday morning; apparently he knocked my door "about" 07:00.
I didn't wake until 08:00!!!
Luckily he came back about 5 hours later.
Hahaha my father in law JUST got a job with them last week so hopefully around the Manchester area things should improve at least :p. Best delivery company in UK right now seem to be HOME never had a problem with them and they seem cheap enough too.
Citylink are pretty good in the York area, we have a lively individual who seems to make our house the first on his trip, he's alright :D no complaints about citylink here.
