57 plate 2.2CDTI w/ 18k Miles on the clock
Bought two weeks ago...I've already had the grill changed from the Silver reflective one to the Black Type-R Style Sports Grill free of charge and I am getting brand spanking new alloys under warranty next week (thanks to some mild paint bobbling). I've also been in touch with a couple of tuning companies and the planned remap will take it to 194BHP and 315ft/lb
Even the type R one is pants , Should have purchased Gibbo's Mustang
HI there
Its a very good car. :)
Pulls very well and for a diesel it likes revs and thats with 140BHP, will certainly be very interesting to see how it goes with practically 200BHP, one thing for sure is it will be quicker than the Type R and feel a lot lot faster with all that torque.
But you still need to learn how to drive a diesel. :p
The polish, more polish and waxes will be out this weekend, feel free to bring it along and we can do them both at same time, plus I got the Dodo wax for black cars and then we can go do a photoshoot. :)
Need a model for the photoshoot Gib's

actually, whilst a lot of the Type-R purists turned their nose up at the new models due to the torsion bar suspension it actually suits the car really well. It skips around nicely, is very responsive, sticks well in high G corners and with a little flick it slides really smoothly. Engine-wise it's the typical well built, well designed Honda engine and on the interior, design & build quality front the new Civic totally wipes the floor with the old ones
New one is crap , thats why people go FD2 as thats a proper type R like the old EK9 . EP3 and FN2 areNOT true Type R's .
Show that new uk type R against mine and will be in the rear view mirror all day long .
mine is not a Type R, it's not even petrol and you are elitist and narrow minded :p
ignoring those facts
New Type-R 0-60 in 6.4s, 198 BHP, 142lb/ft
Old Type-R 0-60 in 6.4s, 197 BHP, 145lb/ft
so apart from the chassis changes, the more modern styling and the build quality improvements I don't see much of a difference :D lol
Old type R = alot less bhp than that and only a 1.6 .
Im elitist as you say as I own (for 3 more days) a true type R . Honda will employee's will tell you the FN2 is not a true type R aswell .
As for narrow minded  , My diesels bigger than yours :woot:
You taking it to Celtic for a remap ?
possibly, been looking around a couple of places and I do have a quote for a driveway tune from Celtic
am in no rush though, as Gibbo hinted (not so subtley), I've been driving rev-happy petrol engined cars for ten years so i've gotta get used to driving a diesel before I go tuning it up :p
I test drove both new and old Type-R over the last year, I liked them both for different reasons, but my new work situation (& the 65 mile a day round trip) makes rev-happy petrol an expensive option
i'm was not going to comment on your Diesel...Volvo  4x4  Automatic  Chelsea tractor :cry lol
My Ovlov of love is great  (I hate it really but needs must)
The old type r is a 99 plate for example by the way

HI there
I think you'd be impressed by Scotti's Type S, its not as flickable as your Type R but its overall road holding ability is not that far behind. But the torque from the engine makes it pull well, admittedly its nowhere near as quick in a straight line as the ATR.
However it will be interesting to see how well it goes once mapped, should drop 0-60mph on it to sub 7s which for a diesel that can still return 50mpg and is rather good in the twisties you can't really complain about.

Step away from the coke as the sugars going to your head buddy
I have driven a new type R and even that is a large gap from mine road holdind wise

Hi there

Hi there
Nope I never said your car was better, infact I remember saying how the steering seem so much poorer.
All I remember was having to slow down for you to catch up and then booting it round every corner and by corner exit you were not keeping up, hell I could have just left the car in 4th and still been quicker. :D
