Hi,

So it looks like the power brick has decided to die on my XBox 360, at least i hope its the brick. Powers up for like 2 minutes then turns off.

Booooooooooooooooooooo!

The fans don't ramp up, so its not cooking and the auto turn off isn't on, so according to the helpful Microsoft guy in Estonia its the brick.

Although this isn't covered on the warranty.

£17.50 for a new one.

After the 2nd hand XBox 360 i repaired died, i got a new one, maybe 6 months ago.

If i hadn't just renewed my XBox Live for 12 months i would get a PS3.

Gotta hate Microsoft.

You sure its not switching off because of this? Fans aren't spinning fast enough so its overheating?

It takes around 20 mins for it to turn itself off due to heat.

Ah ok - wondered if it might be different if no fans were present etc :)

Funny thing though, i've moved the power brick so its not behind the TV and its working again, well it hasn't turned off in 20 mins.

Coincidence?
Could be that just be moving it, it got 'messed' with enough to bring it back to life for now.
Have you checked for a break in the cable.
