View Full Version : Upgrade to iPhone on Orange?

I'm looking to upgrade to an iPhone from my Nokia 5800 but I'm only 5 months into a new contract with Orange. (2 year contract)

Does anyone know if I can upgrade or am I stuck with the 5800?

This is my 1st contract phone so don't know the process of upgrades etc?

Some operators will allow you to upgrade before your contract ends, however they will charge you for the phone. best thing to do is phone and ask orange what they will charge you to do this.

As your only in to your 5 month in a 24 month contract the only way your getting an iphone through orange is to get a pay as you go one.
Unless you get a very very nice customer service person.
I just upgraded with orange and I was in my 13th month on a 18 month contract and they tried charging me £75 for early upgrade fee but couldnt do out for me before the 13th month.

Worth a try tho but good luck..

They wouldnt budge at all so just going to pay the money for the upgrade.
When I sell my old phone and ipod it will come to more than £75 so Im not to fussed :)

I had to go with a 24 month contract too.

Ah ok - all worth knowing. I think I've got about 6months left on my contract, so I'm starting to look around for new deals :)

Yep if I wanted the phone on a 18 month contract then they wanted like £100+ for the phone on top of the £75 early upgrade fee.
My mate got the same deal as me but didnt have to pay the early upgrade fee as it was his time for a upgrade.

iirc you can only change your contract after 50%(of your contract) and get the free upgrade after 75% but which handsets are free will depend on your tarriff.

personally i dont like the iphone, but thats just me, i like real buttons so i can use them without looking. txt msg from my pocket ftw :D

AFIAK orange will consider upgrades 3 months before end of term
