Just cut out the front honeycomb from my CM690

Why?
Does it help with noise/airflow or something?

from what I have read a little of both.
Had to go google for what the front normally looks like....
....good mod..standard front is way too restrictive (although the wavy'ness does match your wallpaper - errr...did I just think that).
lol butchering it sounds a little too extreme, i don't think it would help that much with temps, and it doesn't look all that good now.
What are benefits by doing this

increased airflow, less noise and imho looks nicer too
Only problem might be increased dust, but what the heck you only live once :woot:
Reminds me that I haven't done a good case mod in years (if the ones I did were ever good in the first place)

Started on this (common in CM680 mods) first as a replacement panel is available cheeply if I buggered it up
I have access to VMC's, lathes, CAD/CAM & all sorts of tools, I just find motivation to be a problem.....that & I only have one PC, when it's knackered I'm up the creek.
I always manage to do other peoples homers no problem, my own sit for months before I scrap them lol.
