Anyone using vista yet???
Especially if using a directX 10 compatible card (8800)
Problems?????
I ask in particular re compatibility with older \"Direct X 9\" games (and older!) - will they play???
Any probs with programmes - Drivers not working etc
Go on own up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Using Vista Ultimate as we speak.
I have had problems running older Open GL games like Quake, Quake II and Quake III Arena on the latest ATi Drivers.
Games such as Farcry and FEAR work fine, though performace drops by about 10 frames-per-second compared to when I play them under Windows XP.
As yet there are no Direct X 10 games out anyway, so I'm unable to talk about DX10.
My card is a Radeon X1950 anyway, no DX10 support.
I have had no problems with drivers and software, though I am running the slightly safer x86 version, rather than running the 64-bit minefield.
Here's something you might want to check out,

hope this helps
Cheers
Waiting for my free copy.
Should have it in a few months.
In no hurry - would like a service pack out before I actually install it.
I'm waiting for my copy but it will be a few months.
If I wasn't getting it anyway, then the money would already be burning a hole in my pocket!
Yeah running Vista Business at the moment.
Haven't tried any games yet though, and its only running a 6600.
Nothing to write home about no.
Only problem i have is finding an HDD imaging program to work with Vista.
I've always used the (now discontinued) Drive Image software.
What problems are you having with the imaging software? Does Vista have a new DFS?
Cheers.
Well at work we use R-Image (Paid Version)
And at the moment they dont support Vista, so whenever i need to image a hard drive i have to reboot into XP which gets annoying.
I have a thread somewhere on Imaging software for Vista but not had any luck really.
We used to use Drive image but im pretty sure they dont support Vista.
:D
Good list of Vista compatible software here:

Hope this helps your HDD Imaging issue.
Vista will eventually get much better re compatibility and stability and other words ending in \"ity\". I remember XP going through this phase while I clung to Windows 98 :D

Make sure all your machines are in the same Workgroup.
Under Windows XP:
Right-click \"My Computer\", click \"Properties\" > \"Computer Name\" tab > click \"Change\" and enter your workgroup name - I use \"HOME\" for instance. Nice and imaginative.
Under Windows Vista:
Right-click \"My Computer\", click \"Properties\" and click \"Change settings\" under the \"Computer name, workgroup and doman name settings\" section of the window.
Now reboot and your machines will all show up in Network Places > Workgroup Computers.
