Don't worry mods, I don't sell anything on my site. :)

Just thought I'd pass out a link to my photography site as I've recently updated it (the style and the content).

http://www.finaldecap.com - Head over to the 'Gallery' page. :)

I have some shots I'm really proud of, others I'm not so fussed about...generally speaking most of them I'm not so proud of really. :p
The 'Food' section currently is just pictures of food using AUTO  I've not bothered to set up any shots of food properly.

The other albums, are almost entirely shot on full manual as I find I get better results from using that than I do from using partial auto modes like Aperture Priority and such.

Anyway, enough rambling, enjoy. :)

The design looks good :thumb: Clean, simple and easy to navigate. You might want to play around with the colours a little though. Perhaps darker shades of the background colours you already have and use brighter colours for the highlights :)

Problem is, I'm not really a fan of dark websites, much prefer lighter ones. Previous design was white/cream.

Fair enough really, I really would change that green border though. A cream/yellow shade would look much nicer :) It's a good site none the less :)

EDIT: forgot to say, pictures are quite nice too ;)

Went out today for some shots in derelict barns on a disused farm (not been used in at least the last 25 years!).

As I'm on the laptop I've only bothered to put them up onto Deviant Art though, link below...

Below are a couple of my favs...

Liking the chain pic, the rest hmm not so sure about.

Just my opinion though ;)

Just wondering why you have the exposure set to -0.33 and iso 400? Is that to get a little bit of "noise" in there?

InvaderGIR

I wanted noise, but not too much. I was also shooting in very low light with no tripod. :p

Lowest shutter speed I could go was 1/10 before movement started to really affect the images, so needed a high-ish ISO...I don't like 800, too grainy and lower ISOs just don't get enough light in, 100 or 200 would have been useless on most of the photos. Obviously I then had to use as low an Aperture as possible to let as much light in as possible.

I didn't want to use the flash to light as it just kills all the effects I was going for and had been using from the natural light within the barns.

I'll be going down there again over the next few weeks I expect and I'll take my tripod with me which means lower shutter speeds, lower ISOs etc. :)

I'll normally use a lower ISO etc. when doing 'normal' photos...

Thats fair enough, too sharp a picture can make the more "arty" shots look a bit to sterile for lack of a better word.

All good pics, the chain is deffo the best of the bunch for me http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y1/mac124/smilies/thumbsup.jpg

where did you take those pictures, it seems like the middle of an abandoned town or something then the car brings back modernisation lol

Haha.

The newer batch of yellow images I took at a disused farm just down the road from my house.

I need to sort them into albums really. :)

Nice clean looking web page, great images too. I really like the 'No Escape' image above,
a whole story in one photograph. Excellent.

Bump...for no real reason. :p

I'm thinking I want to completely remake my site, as in start from scratch and code up a gallery system, but I'm also thinking that is a bit excessive and pointless. Hmmm...

All images are clickable (takes you to the page on my site) and there are far more on the site. :)

Added a few more pictures to the site, including:

(It is actually three images put together)

Brilliant pictures although you might want to think of adding a navigation tool on the pictures so you dont come in and out of the images

Top right nav buttons not good enough for you? :p

I need/want to implement some javascript so you can use the cursors to navigate. :)

Maybe looking into a jquery template would be a better idea? Something like PrettyPhoto (http://www.no-margin-for-errors.com/projects/prettyphoto-jquery-lightbox-clone/) would work quite well and you can customise it as much as you want. :thumb:

Nah, I don't want the whole popup type of thing. Tried it before and it just isn't that great really. I just need to add some js to the php for the images and it'll be fine. :)
