Hi,

Got my pc and installed all drivers etc... i install Battlefield 2, i get a crap FPS rate of 97 which i would have thought my card would get more than that. Also while playing im getting jumps while playing both online and offline.

Why would such a high rated graphics card have a low FPS rate and why does it jump?

Thanks

Does the game not limit the FPS to 100? A lot seem to do that.

97 is hardly bad though, technically your eyes don't know any difference.

You should be able to run higher res than that, try 1280x1024 and see what the frame rate is. If it's still the same it could be as Barley suggested and a rate cap. Not sure about the lag though 2142 runs silky smooth on my setup which is very similar to yours.

My screen is only 17\" because i carnt fit any bigger monitor where i have it.

So will that resolution fit my screen ?

Thanks

assuming it's tft its native res should be 1280x1024 iirc, if its crt could be anything up into the 2000+ res

ok just had a quik fraps of 2142 and i get a solid 100ish fps so i assume it is capped at this, this is @ 1280x1024 all details set to max. It would probably suggest BF2 is similarly capped.

The other possibility is that it's CPU limited.
