I just rung the estate agent about the apartment we're meant to be moving into tomorrow. Spoke to some receptionist type woman. She thinks the apartment isn't ready. However I told her I was assured by the lady in their lettings department that we could come in on Friday to sign the lease and move in on Saturday, we've already hired a removal van and packed our things.

Says someone will ring me back in a few minutes. That was 45 minutes ago now...

Smashing...

Had to ring the Estate Agent AGAIN!! They reckon it's the landlord that's holding everything up because he isn't returning their calls regarding some minor things that need doing to the apartment.

We'll be lucky to get the lease signed today, let alone tomorrow!

This might not seem so bad, but I had even worse problems the last time I tried to rent somewhere. All Estate Agents must die, then we can dance on their graves and get new people that actually know what they're doing!

Agree'd the crappy estate agents sorting out my aunties flat that my brother was meant to move into before xmas allowed the old tenants to overstay their welcome and never forced them to get out, my aunty had to get the courts in, when its the estate agents job.

He was left homeless over xmas ended up on the floor at parents ha.

Death to estate agents

Isnt that a good thing? Note they said Things needed doing to the apartment, Doesnt this give you an idea that somthing mihgt be wrong with the apartment your going to move into?

If it was me id askt the things that need doing to it are.

Seems the ENTIRE hold up was over getting a second security key for us, when we could have managed perfectly well with just one for now!

Simple.

Tell them that unless they actually do something, they've lost a customer.

Then very pleasantly demand to speak to the manager to discuss the quality of service they offer.

Slow landlord or not, they can still return calls. Likewise, the landlord won't want to see a break in their income stream.
