Hi,

So the missus' laptop has started going melons up, the battery doesn't hold charge and it sounds like the bearings in the CPU heatsink fan are going as well, its a Dell Inspiron thats in its 4th year so its done pretty well really.

So i need a new laptop for around £400.

All she needs it to do is MS Office, as she is a school teacher and play those crappy games on Facebook.

I would prefer to get one with a decent graphics card in it but i know i'm wishing really for £400.

I've seen one for £479 with a 9600m GS Black edition, 4GB DDR2 RAM, 17" screen and energy efficent Core2duo 2.26GHz :thumb:

Also looking for a new laptop for a friend for similar price range so I'd also find this thread useful. :)

Might just get a cheapo acer, even if the build quality is often a little suspect... at least they are easy to repair.

I agree, have a look for a refurbished laptop instead, it should drop the cost of the laptop a bit. Also, try ****? (If you do order from **** though, try and make sure you order from a company, incase something goes wrong.)

I've bought 3 reconed Acers in the past for about 350 quid and never regretted it.

Acers are like common Fords. U can easily find parts if they get damaged. :thumb:
