View Full Version : Remapped the 306
Hi there, I remapped the 306 today with a KWP2000+ and had a stage 1 Mr whippy remap. It seems alot quicker and feels to pull harder in all gears. I am very pleased with the results. I will need todo some more dynolicious runs and see if it makes any diffrence in the times I should imagine it will be around 8-10 seconds insted of 12 now.
The remap was very simple I extracted file from the ECU and sent to mr whippy the remap man from pug 306. Once I had paid him he sent me the edited file back, I uploaded that to my car and hey presto we were remapped. I am now considering a decat and removal of the EGR valve but unsure yet.
PS to gibbo if he reads this did you get a clutch yet?
Cheers Phil
Hi there
Glad you got yours done m8.
Not bothered with a clutch, it seems to have stopped slipping and when it did it was so little so seems pointless in bothering to be honest. :)
Friendly heads up, mine started slipping very lightly and disappeared then it came back with a vengeance a few months later. Im not saying yours will do the same as mine did, but be ready for it coming back a lot worse than it was originally.

HI there
Yeah was gonna do it anyway but for now it can wait, at least a clutch for these that can handle remapped Stage1 is only £100 so not end of the world. :)
Can anyone give me advice on a remap or point me in the right direction?
The best price i can find is around £200 :(
I would proberly prefer to buy a KWP2000+ and do it myself as this would be useful in the future anyway.

Yeah I am very pleased with it. If it does start slipping it will be a days work and 100 quid. Drop the box and get it done! I am going to put a new clutch cable in mine soon as they are a common problem as they run them over the exhaust and they dry out so go stiff. Has yours suffered from that yet?
Cheers Phil
Just wondering - If you go for a decat on your car, how does that effect emissions and MOT etc?

My VTI passed fine and apperantly, Diesel engines in the United Kingdom do not require a catalytic converter to pass the MOT test?
Yeah a decat is not required for a diesel it's just a smoke test. I am considing getting a decat but I am unsure. I have a mate that was going to weld a piece of pipe in it's place. Just making my mind up.
