Net pc.

Not a great pic of the insides but its not easy to get to the window side without unplugging everything.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y1/mac124/netpcinsides.jpg

The review pc, not the tidiest i know but then it does get ripped apart on a regular basis.

[quote:df5fb3ce86=\"PrivatePyle\"]@ Demibeard - nice system mate, some of my specs are pretty similar to yours, in particular CPU and RAM. Just wondering what cooling you're using for your overclock? am looking into it myself, other than a new HSF wasn't going to be concerned with anything else. have 2x 120mm case fans already. am assuming its nice and stable!! :D

~ PP.

ps - will get motivated later and post some pics.[/quote:df5fb3ce86]

Hello PrivatePyle, it is stable although I'm going to get one of those Arctic Freezer thingys ( http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=20728 ) unless anyone has a better solution?

Typically SysTool says...

External CPU 27
Internal CPU 32-45(Extreme Heavy Load, using PSPVideo9 in High Priority Mode)
System 27

Trixx says that my x700 is 43 on the board and 73(?) on the VPU.

I think I need to get some better cooling for my x700

I too am running a couple of 120mm case fans. To be honest though, and dare I say it, other than video processing, I haven't really noticed much of a speed boost, CPU-wise, the VGA overclock makes quite a difference although my 3Dmark 05 score was seriously rubbish (2977) :(

Need more money... PS3, GPS for my PSP, and a NZXT case ( http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=20912 ) on my shopping list.

[quote:d4177c30c4=\"PrivatePyle\"] @mac - mate what do you do for a living that necessitates you having so many toys!?!? 8)

~ PP.[/quote:d4177c30c4]

Well long story short(ish) i got a virus several years ago that i couldn't remove through the usual method so i had to reformat which meant i lost all my docs, games, music everything. Few months later i was updating my virus checker and my pc crashed BIG TIME whilst installing it so i had to reformat again which p!ssed me off so i built a second pc primerily for net / email use. I stayed with 2 pcs upgrading every so often building pc's to sell with the cast off bits and then i got into reviewing hardware and not wanting to strip down my \"normal\" pcs all the time i built the 3rd pc for testing whatever i got to review.

Currently..

\"Dominator\" Midi tower case with LCD
5x 500gig Maxtor SATA HD's
3 x 300gig Segate SATA

Cant remember what MOBO i have on board.....

2GHZ Intel Processor
2gig ram

Basically, this setup runs my HTPC..

total 3.4tb.. and its full : (

Sits on the DMZ, with a wireless card in the back to allow people with laptops to connect and watch content if required..

Access from Lan is only allowed via. SSH and SAMBA, no inbound DMZ access to the LAN. No inbound WAN access.

Server is downstairs in the cellar.. runs at a nice constant 26-29degrees.. based on several strategicly placed fans blowing air across the disks from all directions.

2x 8cm fans blowing across the disks from both sides, and a 12cm fan blowing from the front of the disks, and then a 12cm fan blowing down onto the disks from above, 4 5'1/4 fans in the drive bays blowing in..

However, i need another case, possible a lian-li case... but not forking out 170£ : (
