We all spend a small fortune building up our pc's to the level we want them at but how many of us think to purchase and use a surge arrestor to protect them from spikes and surges when lightening strikes or the power plays up. It could be difficult claiming compensation for damaged goods if we don't have one fitted and they are not an expensive piece of gear.
Not tryint to sound a smart ****, but is this something you'd like Aria to stock, or a statement?
Anyone who doesnt have surge protection on their expensive tech is a plank and should look to get some immediately.

AAron if you don't have a surge arrestor fitted and your pc is killed off after a spike or surge in the power supply you will have one heck of a job getting compensation from your power supplier. The first question they will ask is did you have a surge arrestor fitted and if you say no they will probably just say tough fplit matey. You can get them from most anywhere these days fitted in extention leads with several socket outlets and also covering a telephone connection too on some or you can get them as a stand alone adaptor. Either way they are cheap as chips compared to a new PC rig.
All electronic gear is vunerable to electrical spike & surge damage. Why not protect everything in the house! http://www.smarthome.com/4860/Leviton-Whole-House-Surge-Suppressor-Surge-Protector-51120-1/p.aspx

To be fair though if your PSU blown, and the RMA company asked "were you using a surge protector" most people would say yes regardless. If a PSU blows, warranty will cover it.
I do use a surge protector my self anyhow.

Other than the nameless supermarket mentioned above (starts and finishes with an "L", I resent the premium charged for spike protectors; having worked in the electronics business I know just how cheap these things are, the heavy duty, industrial grade ones we bought cost about £1 each and you just wired/soldered them across whatever you wanted protecting.

Personally i prefer the UPS route, get yourself a small cheap Backup supply from some one like APC, their not that expensive, will give you surge protection as well as the added bonus of not frying your hard drives when the power goes out at the least opportune moment.... some time ago i had a small power glitch, not a major outage, but enough to cause everything to flick off for a second.... about 1 minute after i finished a BIOS update  ... 2 days later i fitted a UPS !
For what we spend on GPU's and the like, i'm sure we could all afford a cheap UPS, it doesnt have to power the whole house for hours, just enough to allow the machine to shut down safely
The only thing I don't like about a cheap UPS is that the batteries die after 2yrs normally.
Hardly a great investment for the very rare chance that it's needed.
Surge protection is a must though...which I why I run two MonsterPower HTS800 for all my computer gear.
