Its a topic that always seems to get brushed under the carpet, I can see why for a number of reasons, corporate representation wise, but I think with recent events, (spamcore), It might be a good time for a couple of lesser mods, just to do the trawl and tidy thing, I personally have pretty much given up on my own forum, due to bot infestations, which I havent got time to clean out so Ive locked the forum, and will prolly take it down and rebuild sometime in the summer, its supposed to be an FPS gaming forum, at present it looks like a porn/viagra convention.

House keeping is essential to forums and although the mods(FR)are quite meticulous in keeping the place squeeky I feel its now time to look at a couple of realcore regulars to help out.

Yep PP and Bels would be my choice... :wink:

yeah its a daily task on the forum I mod on, and theres 16 mods/admins on that forum and its still hard to keep on top of it.

So fair play to FR for doing it all himself so far!

Totally agree for the most part spam is kept under control but i come on here latish at night / in the morning and generally find a few spam posts a few mouse clicks and all would be cleared.

I'm not too bothered who gets promoted, i have offered myself on a few occasions but nothings come of it, but yeah i would agree PP / Belso / Elrob would be decent choices imho.

I agree also, someone like ElRob who is on regularly, or any of us regulars would be a good choice for fast moderation. What about a 10 moderated posts limit on new members so the bots are stuffed?

The only thing about modded first posts is that you have to be real quick in approving them if they are legit. We founf that if they arent approved and being displayed in next to no time, the user gives up and goes away. I'd rather put up with a few spams here and there that a stagnant user base - but I agree something needs to be done!

Hello all :)

I can confirm Firerat and Lucy are still alive and kicking but a very important project has taken them away from the forum for a short time.

They should be back to help very soon to address this issue and any other on the forum :wink:
