I'm looking into buying a new PSU for my gaming rig. I recently purchased a 8800GTX so we all know what a power whore this card is (For what it's worth, this card, in my opinion, is worth the £380 i paid for it)

But it's struggling with not getting enough power, so it does its job of not working at its full potential (which is a great feature) But as a gamer that I am I want the full hell house of power that I can get from this beauty.

I currently have the, 600W ATX SurgeControl Power Supply. Which works fine. But as I said, I want a bigger one to power this sucker of a card up, as well as my other components;

Sony 18x DVD/RW
320GB Seagate 7200.10 SATA 2
250GB Seagate 7200 SATA-2
AMD Athlon64 X2 4200

600 watt should be enough if its a decent brand. I have a 600watt Seasonic in my gaming rig and it seems to work just fine, no messages about low power and it benchies about right compared to similar specced setups.

Go for one with at least two dedicated PCI-E rails - those generally come on the \"SLi certified\" power supplies.

Hiper 580 should do the job, modular too.
