R. Lee Ermey played the drill instructor. There's loads of interesting stuff about him - like most of his dialogue is unscripted. They just let him rant and kept what came out of his mouth in the film. There are so many memorable quotes. Top film.

I must see that film. So many people have said how hilarious it is, I'm starting to feel left out!

Amazing film!! The first time I saw the film I loved it, then went out and bought it. You HAVE to own a copy of a film as excellent as that :)

Another fact (or so I believe) is that the second portion of the film was filmed in teh docklands in London when they were knocking it all down.

Matthew Modine plays Private Joker, if I remember rightly, in an awesome role.

In that case, I must go out and buy myself a copy! Have any of you seen Kill Bill? I saw it for the first time on TV a little while ago and thought it was amazing.. I cannot wait to see the other/s.. Are there one or two more films?!
(yep, I really should watch more movies, haven't even seen The Sound of Music!! )

There's only two parts to Kill Bill. I didn't bother with the second, for some reason. Maybe I will one day.

If you're into thriller/horror, then you can't go wrong with a French film called Haute Tension (Switchblade Romance is the English title). One of the best movies of that type I've ever seen.

Is this turning into another movie thread? I should go and post on the other one...

Kill Bill one was excellent, loads of fighting!
Kill Bill 2 ties up the story well, not as much fighting tho. (disapointing)

Sorry, this does seem to be turning into a movie thread!! I was just quite impressed with Kill Bill and wondered what the general consensus was.. though I have to agree with PP, it's no Pulp Fiction!

So, yeah, back to the original subject!.. I will buying a copy of Full Metal Jacket tonight, at least then I can tick one off my must-see list. Wooh! :D
