Hi,

basically i am trying to setup 'live' video conferencing in a school, to enable one class to be able to see and interact with another, over 100mbit LAN, ideally using digital webcam type devices.

I have tried a few programs that i found on the net and they all seem a bit poor / designed to be used over the net, and the quality is poor.

Is there any software out there designed to work on a LAN, and is fairly easy to use - ideally for Primary school kids /teachers to use. Ideally the software would have a trail period so i could demo it before purchasing the required software and hardware.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Mark

I'll have a think, but have you tried something like Netmeeting as a stopgap?

Basic, but I've used it for that before, and I'm sure you can tell it what connection you are on, and it will adjust the quality accordingly?

i have had a play with netmeeting - but i cant for the life of me host a session over LAN and make it so other users can connect or 'call' the machine. The netmeeting client wants me to connect to the internet.

- However, i am fairly unfamiliar with this software, and might just be missing the obvious
